If their stranglehold wasn't slipping, there would have been no attempt at an apology. They would have aired The Fake Reagans on CBS instead of Viacom's Showtime. They wouldn't be having a hissy fit about "the fairness doctrine" because Rush Limbaugh is on the radio and Fox News is on some cable providers.

There would have been no "temper tantrum" in 1994 for Peter Jennings to complain about.

I don't see the light at the end of the tunnel yet but the shackles are being cast off. The left will strike harder and continue to try to demonize conservatives and beat down those who might no longer identify themselves as "Democrat".

Those signs don't tell me their stranglehold is slipping.

You know how the old story goes. If you throw a live frog into a kettle of boiling water, he'll jump out; but, if you put the frog into tepid water and apply heat, the frog will not notice the temp rising and will stay in the kettle until it's boiling and he's dead.

Well, instead of frogs, they're cooking sheeple. The heat's on and the water temperature is rising. Every once in a while the cooks turn up the heat to see if the sheeple react. If or when the sheeple bleat about morals and such, the cooks respond with contrition, and turn the flame back down to where it was. By doing this every so often, the cooks give the sheeple a sense of security and victory; they think they've won a battle in the culture war. But, in fact, the heat is still on. The temperature is still rising.
