Let Us Unite Behind President Bush ( A Plea Message to all Freepers)

Dear Freepers
In this crucial election year, we are seeing that some conservatives are irresponsibly attacking President Bush in very aggressive way. By doing so, they are helping the Democrats and this is not acceptable at all. In this crucial time of our history, where we are fighting the war on terror, it is extremely important that we stay firmly united behind President Bush. We simply cannot afford as a nation to have a Democrat in the White House, it will be a disaster for America. Thus, I would like to ask you my friends who love President Bush and want to see him re-elected to stop attacking him and think about the big picture. Also, I would like to ask you to personally send e-mails to any conservative journalist, radio host, or TV host who is attacking President Bush or harshly criticizing him and ask them not to do so. I already e-mailed Mr. Joe Scarborough from MSNBC asking him to stop attacking President Bush as he has been doing lately. I send an e-mail to Mr. Bob Novak asking him to tell the truth about the ultra left liberal John Kerry rather than put down President Bush as he did in his latest articles. I sent an e-mail to NewsMax asking them to retrieve my name from their e-mail news alert list because I disagree with the way they are attacking President Bush lately. Any article posted on Free Republic and that is bashing President Bush for not being conservative enough should not get any traction or responses. If we do not respond to them, then they will eventually stop posting such irresponsible articles. We must work hard in toning down the rhetoric of some of our conservative friends. We love them very much, we respect them very much, but their anger is hurting us all in this crucial election year. Please let us do so, for the sake of this great nation.
Sincerely yours; JVERITAS

I have nothing so say to you that is any different than homemom's response to you in post 256.
She has covered it quite well. Thank you homemom.
BTW I have lived in Texas all my life. I know all about the immigration problem.
Not only that my ex-husband is a high ranking Border Patrol official.
Believe me, this problem has nothing to do with President
Bush.
As homemom says, he is at least attempting to deal with it.
No one else has. He has my respect for taking something like this on.

You're proving my point.
Abortion is an issue, not a principle.
Whatever gets the emotions all fired up is good enough for many I guess.
So tell me, at it's very core just what does the republican party stand for? I mean iron clad, unshakable, line in the sand principles that define it's very existance and therefore purpose.
I'm not talking about rhetoric, I'm talking about things proven by actions.

J.R.

Quote from some famous guy, which I always try to remember:
"I would have made this letter shorter, but I didn't take the time."
Substitute "post" for letter and . . .

I'd say the action of killing a defenseless baby months, weeks, days, or minutes before he/she would take his/her first breath, is an action that sure proves something!

If Bush had simply refrained from enacting legislation and spending that were antagonistic to his base we wouldn't even be having this conversation in the first place. He needs to throw some very BIG bones and make them stick for conservatives to get excited about his re-election.
Are you missing the old days, when our previous president ignored everything?
I prefer a President of action, like President Bush.
Doesn't his courage in attempting some sort of reform mean something?
Besides, in just about everything he does, people say this is the thing that will take him down. But he has ALWAYS exceeded what people expect.
This has been said over and over about President Bush-do not misunderestimate him.
I stopped misunderestimating him when I watched him debate Ma Richards for governor of Texas.
Having been under the governance of George W. Bush for many, many years now, I will say without any hesitation, HE HAS MY VOTE.
(by the way, I think misunderestimate is a wonderful word. In my opinion this word shows the foolishness of his critics more than it reflects on him.)

Small correction: the Border Patrol catches an average of 2,900 per day at present. Several times that many get through every day.

Does this look familiar to you?
Of course it does. It is featured quite prominently on your homepage.
Have you forgotten? I have not.
This is why my vote will go to George W. Bush.

this problem has nothing to do with President Bush.
Then who does it have to do with? Castro?
Mr. Bush has proposed amensty for illegal aliens while failing to pressure Congress into passing the Criminal Alien Removal Act Of 2003 (Clear Act) thereby failing to enforce existing federal immigration laws - violating Article IV, Section 4, U.S. Constitution: "The United States shall guarantee to every state in this union a republican form of government and shall protect each of them against invasion and in application of the legislature or of the executive against domestic violence." This is your ex-husbands duty at work. If the President does not supply him with the men and materials to do his job FULLY, then it is the Presidents failure, not your ex-husbands!

Yes, I know they are all Catholics or peace loving Muslims, no terrorists included in the EVERY NIGHT bunch of US border crossers.

Closing the border would have been #1 with me. He's closed the windows and left the front and back doors wide open.

That comes to over one MILLION people CAUGHT per year.
1,058,500, to be exact. That is a darn big number. Think it's accurate?
Several times that number would be at least three-four MILLION people a year. Respectfully, I ask where you got those numbers.

I do not DISagree with you about the border. However, the fact remains that the terrorists were from Saudi Arabia and MidEast countries, and they continue to pose the greatest threat to our security.
He WILL deal with the Mexican border and illegal immigrant issue; he has said he would, and I believe he will. We might not--probably won't--agree with him totally, but he will at least make an effort to do something to improve the situation.

Sabertooth posted this in response to jveritas suggesting that we be active in getting our message out.
You're focusing on silencing the messengers, instead of addressing the problem
I am afraid I disagree with you Sabertooth. What is being suggested is that if we have problems with the way things are, we should act to change it. Not just sit around and complain like many are doing here.
That is the obligation of all of us as citizens. Regardless of your point of view----try to do something about it. Don't just sit around and complain.
I am not accusing you of anything, in fact I applaud you for disagreement, but still being able to look past a single issue.
Everyone should be working to advance their goals, not just sit around and gripe.
I keep thinking about the pressure we as a group put on CBS regarding the Reagans. Of course we need to put more pressure on them now, but remember what happened when we established a goal and worked together?
I will be voting for George W. Bush in November.

They are based on the Border Patrol's figures for FY 2002.
In FY 2002 the BP and INS (whatever their new names are) apprehended 1,062,279 illegal aliens. Of that total, 994,720 were Mexican and another 40,336 were other Central and South American. That left only 27,233 from everywhere else on the planet.
The high end of the DHS food chain says they catch half; the mid-level bureaucrats say a third. The working agents say they're lucky to catch one in five. I have personally witnessed incidents here in Cochise County, Arizona where one in five would have been a vast improvement. It's not their fault; they simply have not been given the manning or equipment resources to effectively do their job. There are also various political policies that get in their way.
I have not seen the final figures for FY 2003 yet; they're still stuck in the political spin cycle. The last official statement I saw from the Border Patrol was that they had nabbed just over 932,000 just on the Mexican border. That figure does not include our other borders or interior enforcement.
