Let Us Unite Behind President Bush ( A Plea Message to all Freepers)
FE/2/04 | JVERITAS

Posted on 02/02/2004 1:48:11 PM PST by jveritas

Dear Freepers

In this crucial election year, we are seeing that some conservatives are irresponsibly attacking President Bush in very aggressive way. By doing so, they are helping the Democrats and this is not acceptable at all. In this crucial time of our history, where we are fighting the war on terror, it is extremely important that we stay firmly united behind President Bush. We simply cannot afford as a nation to have a Democrat in the White House, it will be a disaster for America. Thus, I would like to ask you my friends who love President Bush and want to see him re-elected to stop attacking him and think about the big picture. Also, I would like to ask you to personally send e-mails to any conservative journalist, radio host, or TV host who is attacking President Bush or harshly criticizing him and ask them not to do so. I already e-mailed Mr. Joe Scarborough from MSNBC asking him to stop attacking President Bush as he has been doing lately. I send an e-mail to Mr. Bob Novak asking him to tell the truth about the ultra left liberal John Kerry rather than put down President Bush as he did in his latest articles. I sent an e-mail to NewsMax asking them to retrieve my name from their e-mail news alert list because I disagree with the way they are attacking President Bush lately. Any article posted on Free Republic and that is bashing President Bush for not being “conservative enough” should not get any traction or responses. If we do not respond to them, then they will eventually stop posting such irresponsible articles. We must work hard in toning down the rhetoric of some of our conservative friends. We love them very much, we respect them very much, but their anger is hurting us all in this crucial election year. Please let us do so, for the sake of this great nation.

Sincerely yours; JVERITAS

"I really appreciate the support of all my supporters on the Free Republic. I look forward to being appointed Chief Justice of the United State Supreme Court by the newly elected Democratic president."

If you want to see the result of abandoning your principles and looking at the "big picture" look no further than New York State.

Out of control spending, gun control, and an extraconstitutional "Nanny state".

Conservatives are taken for granted because they have no where else to go just like Blacks in America have little political clout because the Democrats take them for granted.

George Pataki, George Bush, and the rest of the RINO's have gotten my last vote. If that means President Hillary - so be it. I am afraid we are too far gone as it is.

Yep. Your post exemplifies exactly what I mean.

Threats, Stalinist innuendo epitomised by the following quote -

"If we end up with a Democrat president as a result, I do hope people are ashamed of their decision to abdicate their responsibility to vote"

Oh, the shame, the horror.

Try Dale Carnegie on persuading people. Empty threats and revengeful vitriol are not convincing.

And you got the wrong guy; where have I said vote for a Dem.

Hysterical.

Keep digging.

I agree with you and VDH.

But politicians are not Gods, and should most certainly not be immune to criticism.

"Bush needs to move back over to the right a little if I'm going to be motivated to vote for him."

Any person claiming to be conservative who is not motivated to keep the Democrats out of power after knowing EXACTLY what they will do with it if given the opportunity, has a real problem with reality. They're either political martyrs, have not been paying attention to what the Democrat candidates have been promising they will do if elected, or are ignoring (or are totally or willfully ignorant of) the history of the last seventy years, or are incredibly dense or insane, or have a morbid desire to toil their lives away in the misery of a Liberal Hell! Any person who would support a third party candidate who has absolutely zero chance of winning even one state or even a single electoral vote is so politically naive and devoid of the brainpower that The Creator so graciously endowed upon them, that it's not even worth wasting pixels on.

And I can tell you, that I probably won't be wasting very many more pixels on people who are coming to FR to trash and bash our candidates and or to trash and bash and drive away the very posters I'm trying to attract. If the intent of third party supporters is to cause as much hell and discontent on our forum and to inflict as much damage to FR as they possibly can, well, I can assure you we will have many fewer third party posters left on FR very soon. The LePur colony can have them. Thank you very much.

It might be different if there was a primary involved. These kind of battles need to take place as part of the process of selecting the best person to run. In this case, there will be no primary. God willing and barring any major disasters, George W. Bush will be the candidate. So it will either be Bush or one of the Democrats that gets elected. No one else stands a snowball's chance in hell. And I've given every person on this web site plenty of advance notice (I've been saying it for the last three years) that FR will NOT be used to help replace Bush with a Democrat. Period. End of story.

Again, if that is your intent, leave now or get yourself banned later. Excessive and repetitive attacks on our candidates or our posters will not be tolerated. Try your luck at DUh or LibertyPost. In presidential politics, they are interchangeable.

Decpetive. During the Presidencies of Bush I and Reagan, we had a Cold War military. Look at the defense spending numbers. Non-discretionary spending under Bush II is higher than under X-42, Bush I, and Reagan. These are disgraceful numbers for a conservative President.

Sure I'm not a Loserdopian or a Democrat?

Even though you didn't address that to me....no, I'M not sure. I think you've tilted right on over to one of them though.

Oh, OK, the post being addressed as a reply to me must have got me confused.

Posts like mine? What is so "crossing the line" about that.

I wasn't aware that I had transgressed any protocols by asking for persuasive arguments and civility.

Well, it's certainly good that I do not base my vote for Bush on what you say.

But if I was more thin skinned than I am, I may actually take some of this stuff to heart.
