I didn't have my senses offended by watching the SuperBowl half time show on Sunday. I don't watch football period. However, I haven't been able to avoid hearing about the aftermath of it.
Judging from the reaction on all the talk shows on radio , from Art Bell to Rush, the NFL did not do itself any favors. The supurb game is not the talk around the water cooler. The talk is Janet Jackson's middle aged boob and the poor quality of both the half time show and the commercials.
Since the FCC , CBS and the NFL is going to be hearing about this big time, I would like to take the opportunity to help out my fellow Freepers financially.
Short sell the parent company of CBS today.
It is likely that after the FCC investigation that CBS will be fined. It is also likely that CBS will lose the contract for further broadcasting rights for future NFL games.

CBS (SeeBS) is taking a pretty big hit and it's going to get bigger. Finally.

There is no way that this will happen. It's a tempest in a teapot, the FCC, might MIGHT dole out a paltry fine to CBS, but that will be all.

It is also likely that CBS will lose the contract for further broadcasting rights for future NFL games. Maybe FOX will pick up the remaining NFL games? Wouldn't that be a hoot?
Seriously, I think this whole thing will blow over after a couple of days, dont't you? I don't want it to, but it probably will.

Viacom is an awfully big company to be adversely affected by this.
Fine with me, though, if CBS and MTV get brutalized through some kind of boycott.

Seriously, I think this whole thing will blow over after a couple of days, dont't you? I don't want it to, but it probably will. Yeah, kind of like the Madonna - Britney twistedness that got such attention during some award show.
I didn't see the game and am actually somewhat isolated from things like this, but I sure heard about the boob shot.
It's almost as if it's become a contest to see who can draw the most negative attention at these high profile events.

I only watched about the last 2 1/2 minutes of the game.
I'm an avid football fan, and had every intention of watching the game.
So, I did something I rarely ever do these days - turned the TV to CBS. And what did I see (or more correctly, hear)? Aerosmith's Steven Tyler screaming into a microphone. I realize Tyler & Aerosmith have some fans, but to me he's nothing more than a geriatric Sam Kinnison with a rock and roll band.
Rather than suffer through Tyler's screaming, I turned the channel, and ended up watching some bad movie on SciFi.
With that being said, the fact remains that
everything that happened during the game, from Janet Jackson's soft-core porn show, to the reported flag desecration, lies directly at the feet of the NFL and Paul Tagliabue (sp).
And that's my rant for the day.

I think this will be great for ratings next year. Everyone will tune in to see what outrageous surprise might happen. Personally, I didn't watch the game, the commercials or the half time show.

the poor quality of both the half time show and the commercials. I think there is one point in this whole thing that people seem to be missing... that was one ugly boob. And I like boobs a lot... but that was the nastiest looking boob I've ever seen. In the chronology of icky boobie history, that floppy old rag is going to be listed number one. And what's up with the dark black face and the "Michael Jackson whitish-black" boob? Very strange.

CBS left holding the bagWhat? holding the bag? --- Was CBS left holding Hillary, Mad Maddy NotBright, Janet Reno, Susan Estrich, Eleanor Clift, Ellen Ratner, Molly Ivins?
No CBS (SeeBS, CBiaS) just has crap on their face, just exactly where it belongs!

CBS left holding (sleaze) bag.
How about Janet taking Justin to court and suing him over this? Where are the womens groups that like to harp about this kind of thing? Ah, the womens groups have silent since Bill Clinton said, "You'd better put some ice on that".

Just think how depressed Justin Timberlake must be? How would you feel if you used to "do" Britney Spears but were now reduced to copping feels off an old skank like Janet Jackson?

The exposure was bad enough. Unfortunately, tyhe rest of the number was "air intercourse", sadomssochistic, rapcrap. You're right, though, it
is as if the entertainers want to see who can draw attention for the worst possible reasons.
Rock 'n Roll: the media for rebels without a cause. Now it's professionally offensive.
But, then again, I am TheGeezer.
