Kay also said the Iraq invasion was a good thing but few in the media reported that.

For a minute there after reading the title, I actually that that OLD Helen Thomas was actually agreeing that it wasn't Bush's fault. I should've known better, she's a real Joke!

Unfortunately, the buck does stop with W. How clear did it need to be after 9/11 that George Tenet was a major liability to his administration? I still can't fathom why he kept him on board, for the same reasons I can't fathom why he thought Paul O'Neill would make a good Treasury Secretary. Now if he gets rid of Tenet, it looks like scapegoating. Someone dropped the ball big time in his inner circle.

Why are all these dem diehards so against Tenet? Isn't he one of them?

Isn't that what the U. N. inspectors had told the United States?
Well, no, Ms. Thomas. That's not what the U.N. Inspectors told the United States. What the inspectors told the states is that they needed more time so that we could have the weapons destroyed "diplomatically."

I hope the vice president kept a duplicate for himself.I hope that someday Helen Thomas will take a tour of Serbia - the bombed churches and bridges, the graves of the dead, etc. - and witness the devastation of her hero Bill Clinton.
These peace-loving liberals have the most selective outrage I've ever seen.

Helen Thomas is a piece of lying filth and a drunk. Every article she writes is dedicated to bashing Republicans.

This lady is truly senile. She used to keep herself neat and well groomed but the last couple of years has taken on the look of a homeless woman pushing a shopping cart into the press room.

Interesting reference in the article about the CIA being furious about Kay's report and statements and how they are not yet convinced there are no "unconventional" arms in Iraq.
Was Kay's statement and finger pointing at the intelligence committee enough to get them to finally 'act' on their intelligence. I won't be surprised to see the CIA's level of activity increase dramatically in the Mid East Region as they seek to validate their own intelligence.

Condoleeza Rice, the president's national security adviser, wants us to move onOne would think that Helen would have learned how to spell 'Condoleezza,' which has two "z"s, after all her decades in "journalism."

This is an old Democrat trick. Instead of attacking the man himself, you attack his inner guard, one at a time. Eventually, you so weaken the man himself that he won't be able to defend himself. They know that if anyone is fired, it makes Bush look bad and weakens him. The classic example was Nixon, who still, to this day, obsesses so many liberals. Note that Clinton was never forced to fire anyone, because Republican's don't play that game.
