[history]
African-American studies programs are intended to give students an unbiased opportunity to learn and celebrate the history and culture of blacks in America, but critics say courses too often are filled with a leftist political slant that taints the teachings.

Black history month... Who invented this nonsense? Is it the same guy who invented Kwanza?
To: Tumbleweed_Connection
Most blacks vote for liberals. What might one expect of a black studies program, but reinforcement of the majority sentiment?

Easy to sum up African studies:
"It's the white man's fault"
"Those pesky Jews were slave traders"
"The race card - how to get the bling bling"
"Its STILL the white man's fault"
"Nelson Mandela's South Africa - turned a vibrant nation into a 3rd world hellhole but at least whitey ain't around anymore"

I'm currently reading Thomas Sowell's Personal Odyssey. Fascinating for as much as it excludes, it should be required reading in college, period.

I'm not black, but I can tell you books full of african american history. I am mostly German. But I could barely tell you a thing about the contributions of Germans and their history of immigration. When will they begin to teach German history month or Irish history month etc. as ferverently as they do black history month. I guess no other race has made any note worthy contributions to America.

You haven't learned your lesson yet: black is white, up is down, and good is evil. How many fingers am I holding up? Your eyes might tell you four, but you will SEE five. Now you are ready for the new America where lies are truth and truth is dead and buried.

"Black people never really get the real truth"The Muslims were the first slavers. Slavery went from Africa to the East, not Africa to the new World as is the perception as taught. Why do Blacks accept the Muslim world?
The Portugese, French, Dutch, English were responsible for the transportation of slaves from Africa, not the US. The US was not in existance as a country when the majority of slaving occured.
Of the aprox. 12 million slaves that came to the New World aprox. 5% or half a million landed in North America.
The United States from it's inception condemed slavery, Both Black and White. There were a large number of White slaves and there were also a large number of Black slave owners.
The Koran advocates slavery, Slavery exists today.
In the United States Blacks have opportunity that exists in no other country, the best kept secret in the US is the up-ward mobility and success of Blacks. Black leaders must have it appear that Black problem gets worse to retain their power, Black success will put the Black leaders out of power.

''...though there is attention given to the history of a people who have experienced forced migration, enslavement, terrorism, legalized discrimination and random acts of violence and who have sought to counter that brutality through political, intellectual, and cultural means." Hey, leave the Irish out of this!

However, Berry denied that blacks rule out supporting Republicans, and said the opportunity is there for Republicans to reach out to the black community. He added that he doubts that educators have a political agenda when they are teaching black studies. Then he is the only person of any color in the USA that thinks this. Even the Left admits (and parades) the fact they have hijacked the public schools, having completely conquered the Colleges and Universities.

Betcha... African-American studies programs don't mention black slave holders either... BUT blacks have been specifically targeted for communist propaganda since before FDR... little wonder most lean so far to the left they talk and walk like movie hunchbacks... seems to be changing somewhat though.. some very good cultural analysts are black.. and a few are not black but half black(one white parent)..
Wonder why a guy who has a white parent considers himself black in every case, diss-ing his white forebears(even his mother). Affirmative action ?... What is black/white anyways ?.. Michael Jackson white, Julian Bond white, Tony Brown white or Steve Martin white.. A good number of the blacks I know are not black at all.. more like brown in various shades..
no matter I guess..
MLK's, "the content of you're character", is only resorted to anyway, when race whore'ing fails... by blacks and whites..

It should be retitled "Black Proletarian struggle against Genocide perpetrated by the White Imperialist Capitalist system". You get the idea.
