In the dog-eat-dog world of creating great Super Bowl spots, Anheuser-Busch has once again made the rest of the marketing giants roll over.
A Clydesdale-wannabe donkey finished third for Anheuser-Busch, followed by another A-B ad featuring a gas-passing horse that spoils a sleigh-ride date.

Wasn't there a commercial for the new Ford GT? I know I saw one during the 1st quarter.
My fav was the Pepsi "Bear gets carded" add. My wife had stepped out of the room and knew she missed a good one from my howls of laughter. The only other one I liked was the donkey wanting to be on the Clydesdale team.

Well, if you ask me, I thought CBS's saturation advertising campaign for their lame shows was far and away the best.

I'm with you, and I'm no prude. ~SB
Post #28 by varon is notably sage.
I think I'll avoid Anheuser-Busch in the future. If they don't have any better taste or judgment than this, it's bound to be reflected in their products.

and the A-B commercial about the donkey. The "donkey" commercial was beautiful. I loved it. I didn't know donkeys were that cute.
The children at our Super Bowl get together LOVED that commercial. I hope that they get to see it again next year.

I could have sworn I saw a Linux commercial.I believe that was the Muhammad Ali "Shake up the world" commercial which had me laughing my butt off.
Mrs. Theknow asked me why I thought it was so funny and I explained Ali's affliction and she said somebody at the ad agency should be fired for the commercial.
I wonder if someone didn't suggest it as a tongue in cheek joke in an advertising meeting, and nobody else caught onto it and it made it on the air much to that person's amazement.

While viewers loved the animal ads, some were curious about what happens to the animals after the ads, especially because the animals were often the stars. "Hopefully, some of the proceeds go to food and medicines for animals," says Robert Hill, 44, a retired nurse from Tampa.BARF ALERT! BARF ALERT!

Yep....someone's chuckling somewhere.

The gassy horse was a ripoff of an old Seinfeld episose. You'd figure they could be a bit more original when they're paying that much for the ads.

I agree, I love the show and thought the commercial was pretty funny. But even as I was watching it I thought to myself that if you weren't a fan of the show you probaby wouldn't "get it".

The "donkey" commercial was beautiful. I loved it. I didn't know donkeys were that cute. Agreed. It was funny, delightful, and in good taste. Nothing scatological or sexual. Proof positive that advertisers can produce decent, attention-getting ads when they're so inclined.

And, while I don't pin it all on him, I'm convinced that much of the decline have seen is part and parcel of the Clinton "legacy."

Most radio stations in mountain-country Colorado carry incessant ads for a 'Master Bait & Tackle', whost corporate name is repeated at least half a dozen times during a 30 second spot.
'Dumbing Down' does get irritating.

Nothing like the "leader" of the country, 'the grear enabler' standing for nothing at all but cheap thrills. What a fine message to the younger generation.
The damage he did in so many different ways will never be understood and treated honestly by most Americans. I hate the guy ...... and his slimey, ruthless wife!

I didn't know that they were that cute ......... and, that they held such fine ambitions of grandeur! ;)
