MIAMI -- President Bush's re-election campaign, taking advantage of the protracted Democratic primary process, is assembling a massive grass-roots political machine months earlier than usual.
"If you think knocking on doors, getting absentee ballots done, registering voters, making phone calls doesn't make a difference," Florida Gov. Jeb Bush told volunteers Saturday, "then you must have been asleep with Rip van Winkle in the year 2000."

Glad to see the GOP working along these lines --- HOWEVER, we all know the 2000 debacle had nothing to do with turnout and everything to do with RAT voter fraud. It would be nice to hear these truths from politicans and media -- I can dream!!
News flash to both Bush boys and Rove----if you want to guarantee a good voter turnout for the GOP then STOP GOVERNMENT PORK SPENDING AND WASTE; DROP THE COMPASSIONATE CONSERVATIVE STUFF AND SMACK SOME RATS IN THE FACE -- we're sick and tired of their lies; DROP NEA FUNDING; DROP AMNESTY NONSENSE, etc., etc. -- in short - stop trying to buy votes and come back to conservative, small government roots.

Also, looks like Bush has Arnold's massive emailing list out here in CA. Ought to bring in some new young Repubs.

A machine that makes grassroots? Good, they'll need some of those.

come back to conservative, small government roots. Was he EVER really conservative? I've been holding back getting on his case because it gives the ratz so much fodder. Then again sometimes when I'm debating with them I like to point out that W hasn't vetoed ONE spending bill...he's spending like a drunk rat...gave Teddy what he wanted on education...etcetera.
Neing pretty stupid ratz they figure that meas I'm deserting and will vote for a rat or at least a third party so W loses.
Think again ratz...as rat like as he is he's still a danged good leader...better than any rat...won't pull us as far into the cesspool of socilaism as a rat. The key from now until 2008 is to keep building a real grass-roots CONSERVATIVE movement. Elect conservatives at the local, regional and state levels if possible.
A conservative in the WH in 2008 is still pretty much a pipe dream. It's gonna take something really big to change things and it has to flow from the bottom up, just like the Constitution says.

There must be something that we the sheep cannot see. Perhaps it is the rarefied air around the Bush people that stops them from seeing that you cannot abuse the masses and then fully "expect" their votes.

Bush was never a conservative of any stripe. He was and is just another politician seeking the office of president, at any cost.

Of course, the last minute revelation of the thirty year old DUI could account for that last minute swing to Gore.

It was not just the Republicans who had a near-death experience in the Florida recount wars; the entire United States did. And if the Democrats should succeed, America will experience the permanent version. The 2004 election will be the most important election since 1860--and possibly the most important election in American history. This is not hyperbole.
President Bush must be re-elected! A glimpse at the alternatives will tell you why.

" nothing to do with turnout " it was reported by Ralph Reed and other Christan political leaders that 4 million evangelicals did not vote because they thought Gov. Bush would win easily. if half those people voted, forget Florida but 2 million votes for Bush would have ended all the "Gore got more votes" nonsense.

Most would say it's between the two major parties... thus the option lie either with President Bush or the Democrat nominee.....
Who would you suggest?
