It was on purpose. It was no accident.

That's how my husband feels, too. He thinks players now are a bunch of sissies who strike because they aren't making enough money! HAH. Sports used to be, uh, sportsmanlike. Now it's all about money. He watched the super bowl and said it was a great game. I went into our bedroom and turned on a worship tape and read a book. Bet I got more out of that time spent than he did.

Honestly, when I saw that it was an MTV production, I went to wash dishes. My Wife was online and not really paying attention to it. We both missed it.

However, according to the video links, it wasn't an accident. Knowing the history of MTV, I'd have kinda expected this to happen.

I'm glad my Sons are too young to pay attention to football.

Yeah, thanks. Since I posted this RIGHT after it happened, I didn't have the benefit of a "replay".

Funny...MTV is apologizing, but still claiming that it was an accident.

HOUSTON — The organizers of the Super Bowl XXXVIII halftime show had hoped that a surprise guest would get people talking long after the game, but they wound up with one more surprise than they had bargained for.

Janet Jackson's right breast was exposed at the end of her performance after Justin Timberlake — who was expected to be the night's biggest surprise — pulled off a piece of Janet's costume. As a result the move, some 72,000 fans in Reliant Stadium and an estimated 100 million watching around the world saw more of Janet than expected.

"I am sorry if anyone was offended by the wardrobe malfunction during the halftime performance at the Super Bowl," Timberlake said of the incident. "It was not intentional and is regrettable."

MTV, which produced the halftime show for sister network CBS, issued a statement shortly after the game saying, "The tearing of Janet Jackson's costume was unrehearsed, unplanned, completely unintentional and was inconsistent with assurances we had about the content of the performance. MTV regrets this incident occurred and we apologize to anyone who was offended by it."

Jackson did not release an official statement after the game, but her representatives told MTV News that she apologizes for the incident.

CBS, which broadcast the Super Bowl and its halftime show live Sunday evening, also apologized, saying, "CBS deeply regrets the incident that occurred during the Super Bowl halftime show. We attended all rehearsals throughout the week and there was no indication that any such thing would happen. The moment did not conform to CBS broadcast standards and we would like to apologize to anyone who was offended."

Well, that was their statement last night. Nothing new to report. I just heard Paul Taglibue (sp?) and he actually sounded pretty pissed. One wonders if they thought they were making a good move by having MTV produce the halftime show? May they weren't "in" on it? They should have known better than to let a bunch of punks produce a major event like this.

FYI, the article you posted was pulled by MTV. They must want to remove any evidence of the premeditated action after J.Timberlake said it was unintentional. Google still has it cached:Google Cache

I knew we were in for a crappy halftime show when the second rapper, street punk came out holding his dong the whole time like he hadn't peed in a month. The whole halftime performance was crude and a sorry thing for my grandchildren to witness. Shame on CBS and the NFL, both equally responsible.

Then hit the sponsors hard. Don't buy their products and tell them why.

I thought her implant exploded. After seeing the picture of what was on her, it may have been punctured after all.

It's all about ratings, so it's all about money.

There is simply no conscience behind it. If they were unconstrained by laws, and if people would watch it, they'd throw Christians to lions during half time.

Everyone has a limit. I opted out of the whole event this year. There may be many more who do the same next year.

Her PR people hyped this even before the SB....that was going going to be exposed. A crass publicity stunt to hype her career. It worked, the stunt is being discussed all over the tube.

Better question:....
Who designed and choreographed the offending antics.?..
The actors or somebody else.?. Seems that the biggest half time show in the entire universe would not be left to willynilly chance.. or should not have been..
Wonder if GW's appearance had anything to do with it.?.
i.e. desecrating the flag and nipples a'gogo...( Beyonces song was TOP RATE though.. very well done..)
