This makes three attacks in Iraq today....
To: Amerigomag
Do you honestly believe that they don't watch TV also?

Lord surround the husbands of these two who wait. Put your protective light around them and keep them safe in the midst of turmoil. Give assurance and peace to those who fear. In Jesus' blessed name. Amen

I know your heart is in the right place, but this is the best place to report these incidences......where the attacks are talked about in ACCURATE context of WHY we are there, IMHO. CNN is probably playing them over and over and over, in THEIR context.

My sincere wishes for your husbands' safety, and thanks for their service -- and your sacrifices.
I'm sure the guys are well dug-in around their quarters.

Let's think about our fellow FReepers' husbands and sons first, and discuss the policy aspects later.

I've been hearing that AQ wanted to do big damage around Feb1/2. We've been preparing for it here in U.S. (planes grounded). Do you suppose the Iraq attacks today were planned to be a part of a show of force against U.S.?

BREAKING NEWS DOES NOT HAPPEN HERE FIRST!!!YOU need to tell THAT to FOX NEWS who broke the story first on LIVE TV- where the 'bad guys' most likely heard the story AT THE SAME TIME.
We are merely repeating the information we hear on the news.
Besides, if this was where YOUR HUSBAND was stationed - YOU'D BE HERE DESPERATELY LOOKING FOR INFORMATION TOO!

Balad is also where that Minnesota National Guard family was -- daddy was a senior sergeant, two of his daughters were there with him in the same base area, serving in the same Minnesota-based support company; and on top of that, the girls' two boyfriends were also in that Guard unit and posted to the same base area, although they didn't get to see a whole lot of one another since everyone was super-busy.
And to top it all off, the family had yet another daughter aged 17 or 18, three girls in all, in that same Guard unit, but the young one was still at home with the base element and due to rotate to Iraq in a few weeks after completing additional training.
What a family!
