From your #14 link: But the hardest mud to remove has been the false claim that he called Mr Bush a Nazi. For Mr Soros, whose experience of growing up a Jew in wartime Hungary gave him first-hand experience of the Nazis, it was a galling slur.

His first hand experience of the Arrow Cross (Hungarian Nazis) included working for them when he was a teenager.

His father, Tivadar Schwartz, farmed the kids out to sympathetic families and they all posed as non-Jews according to an interview with George S. (David Brancoccio for NOW w. Bill Moyers).

Tivadar Soros wrote a book entitled Masquerade: Dancing Around Death in Nazi-Occupied Hungary.

From Rebecca Mead in The New Yorker October 15, 2001: In the book, Tivadar writes that at one point young George was required by the authorities to deliver notices to certain Jews that they should report to the Rabbinical Seminary with blankets and food. "This was a profoundly important experience for me," George said. "My father said, 'You should go ahead and deliver them, but tell the people that if they report they will be deported.' The reply from one man was 'I am a law-abiding citizen. They can't do anything to me.' I told my father, and that was an occasion for a lecture that there are times when you have laws that are immoral, and if you obey them you perish." (http://www.rebeccamead.com/2001/2001_10_15_comm_soros.htm)

I've read accounts on the web in the past from less sympathetic sources than the Soros family that claim much more than this, but who knows--especially as I can't find them any more.

We need to find out how much the No Fly Zone cost us yearly and for the total number of years it was in effect. It bears into all the hype about the cost of the Iraq war.

This is what I googled up:

historyguy.com

Since American and British forces carried out Operation Desert Fox in December 1998 against Iraq, this "forgotten" war in the Middle East has only become more intense. According to the New York Times in an article on August 13, 1999, American and British forces have escalated the continuing war against Saddam Hussein and Iraq. Since the beginning of 1999 through August 1999, Allied pilots launched over 1,100 missiles against 359 Iraqi targets. That number equals nearly three times the amount of ordnance used in the four-day Desert Fox strike. Also, the pilots in the Iraq War have flown two-thirds the number of missions as NATO pilots in the 1999 Kosovo War. By all accounts, Iraqi forces continue to target their radar and fire missiles at Allied warplanes despite the punishment inflicted from the air. The estimated, unofficial cost of this war to U.S. and British taxpayers is around $1 billion per year. As of August 1999, over 200 military planes, 19 naval ships and 22,000 American military personnel are committed to enforcing the "no-fly zones" and to fighting Iraq. In addition, reports indicate that the death rate for small children has doubled in Iraq over the past decade. These child deaths are attributed to the continuing war and economic sanctions on Iraq and Saddam Hussein’s unwillingness to live up to the 1991 cease-fire agreement.

~~When your enemy is making a fool of himself, get out of his way and let him.~~

Well said, and so true. For humor's sake I occasionally view the DUmmies, and just about everything is Rove's fault...even Dean's primal scream. I'm not sure yet how Rove was supposed to have implanted that and caused Dean to utter it, but no conspiracy theory is too outlandish for that gang.

Well .. I hope you're not holding your breath waiting for that to happen. Starlets don't donate money. In fact, after 9-11, when the "starlets" had their morose benefit on TV, they got the lowest donations of any organization, and even those who participated in the benefit did not donate.

It was Rosie O'Donnell who exposed these facts. I think she even said she was disgusted with the Hollywood bunch because they didn't donate more.

"They hated these principles because the Constitution was written for the explicit purpose of preventing the realization of their socialist and egalitarian dreams………………"

That says it in a nutshell.

I doubt it. She may have been an officer of the court, as such, but has had ZERO experience as a judge, even on a local level...let alone Federal or Appelate courts.

According to George F. Will -

...43 of the 108 Supreme Court justices (most recently Byron White, Thurgood Marshall and Lewis Powell), including eight of the 18 chief justices (most recently Earl Warren) had no prior judicial experience.

When William H. Rehnqust was appointed to the Supreme Court in 1972, I believe that was his first experience as a judge.

So the fact that Hillary has never been a judge would not prevent President John Kerry from nominating her to be the next Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States. She would be the top name on the list of Democrats.

It is interesting that negative material on the web involving Soros just disappears, isn't it. Soros' Project on Death in America site came down about the same time that the Terri Schindler-Schiavo case gained national attention.
