I want the government to be forced to cut spending, not raise taxes.

LOL! Yeah, and I want the lion to lie down with the lamb, but in the meantime, I'll be looking after my own, thanks. I trust everyone else is doing the same. Or maybe I am a cynic. Maybe all those big donors paying big money to politicians are begging the government to do something about MY taxes. LOL!

Are you saying that if my husband and I make over $250,000 and Kerry wants to raise our taxes so you get more money in your check it's okay with you?

I am saying that I am all for MY taxes being lowered. As for everyone else's, it depends.

What? My check from Richard stopped when Clinton left office -- you're still getting yours?

Oops! I shouldn't have let that slip out! ;)

Yeah, But John Kerry will fix the deficit problem by raising taxes on those rich people who don't deserve to keep their own money, who cares about terrorism anyway? < /sarcasm > Off

After all, the terrorist love Democrats, because they don't fight back

I am being a little facitious there, but not much. See, the spending isn't going down. And nowadays Republicans are just as bad as Democrats at rationalizing new spending. It happens every day right here on FR. I chatted with social conservatives who argued in favor of the president's 15 billion dollar marriage counseling plan.

So I am not going to sit by like a sucker saying cut everyone's taxes, while the country as a whole has a big spending party. I have a ways to go paying payroll taxes, and a ways to go before I see any return on it, so yeah, it's an issue for me.

I am pretty sure my wife and I won't be above 250K any time soon, so no, it doesn't concern me if taxes for people in that range go up.

Weasel words. You don't give a damn as long as you get yours.

I'm surprised at you, Huck. But your other posts lately are beginning to make more and more sense.

Well, that was kind of a joke. The point is, when it's my money on the line, I want the tax cuts no questions asked. When it's someone else's, tell me more. It's sort of a joke, you know, but it is probably how 99% of taxpayers actually look at it. They may say otherwise, but I ain't buying it.

That's what is different about us, though, Huck; I want EVERYBODY to get their taxes rolled back, not just me and my husband.

No....you are an economic idiot....lots of the people in the $250K range are the ones who put THEIR capital (that's MONEY) on the line, to start businesses, buy real estate, purchase items.... that provide jobs, that pay taxes, etc.....you really should get an education.
