COLUMBIA, S.C. -- Presidential candidate John F. Kerry yesterday took aim at Republicans for questioning Democrats' patriotism, and several fellow military veterans blasted President Bush as a failed commander in chief who once dodged military service and suffers from never having learned the lessons of war.

What really gets me is that they have thrown to the winds the impact tactics like this have on the strategic thinking of our mortal enemies. Do not tell me that they are not aware of this, they just do not care. Let me say that again: They do not care.
How decadent we have become. You would think that we would have a rational discussion about national security, not a Jr. High School prep rally.

Bush was grounded for missing his medical. Bush did not report as ordered.
Your friend did answer the call to duty. Bush did not.
Do a web search of the Bush record, its not pretty.
He scored 25% on his entry test, yet was passed over 500 others waiting for a flying slot.

*yawn* Bush's service record was well known in 2000 and it didn't seem help 'Nam vet Albore any. The Rats think they can get some traction with this now by convincing the American voters that in the aftermath of 9/11 we need someone with combat experience. Whatever. Bush has been fighting with success for three years now. When we got both houses of Congress the message was clear; the majority of Americans don't trust the Rats with our national security. I hope Lurch starts reminding everyone he's a decorated veteran every five minutes (like he was a few months ago), it worked so well for McCain....

Where were these rumpswabs when the real and documented draft dodger Clinton was running for president. It's really funny they didn't speak up in protest at that time. With Clinton's notorious record of draft dodging, I would be embarassed if I were a Democrat to even bring up the subject.

Um, how does a pin come out of a grenade? No personal experience, but I thought it took 4lbs of force to remove the pin.

Defeat? Show us the surrender documents! Show me the victorious soldiers returning home.
What we have is, The Army getting a emergency manpower fill of 38K.
I have talked to many mid level E-5-E6 soldiers that are getting out.
Defeating means victory. Not a media plastic turkey.

Let me say that again: They do not care.Absolutely agree with you on this - which is why not a single one of these selfish, politically-driven jerks who would spew this stuff is fit for public office, let alone the presidency. (And by the way, Clark should have had his ass kicked for not correcting Michael Moore when he called the POTUS a "deserter".)

Cleland has lost all credibility here in Georgia. He was not re-elected due to the fact that all he ever did was spew the Demo. party line during his tenure. I am sure he is hoping to resurrect some kind of political life tailing along behind Longface. Just one more reason, to keep away far, far away from WH!!

If this is what they have for marketing brains in that party, they are hosed. You cannot put electric heaters in the seats of a Geo Metro and pitch it to Mercedes owners as a better luxury car. People are not that stupid. If you're Geo Metro, admit it. Tell people you have a cheap car that gets high gas mileage. There are people who want that. People who want national defense do not want a Democrat, and you cannot sell them one. Not even one with electric heaters in the seats. |

Kerry came back protested and tossed his medals. The sleaze didn't even have the integrity to toss his OWN medals. He tossed someone else's. His are apparently hanging on his office wall in D. C.

I wonder what Clelend and the rest of the Rats were saying about that most famous draft dodger, spit on the American flag, and now former President Bill Clinton?

Did we just go through 8 years of being told that miltary service didn't matter. Personal character didn't matter. It seems to me that the same people that blindly protected Clinton on similar charge are the ones that want to crush Bush for a similar theme. The dems change their minds like a bipolar on speed. If we could just wrap them in wire and make them stand near a magnet. We could end our energy dependance. Kerry alone could power NYC for a year with his flip flopping..
To: Pukin Dog
thanks Dog, I thought I was the only one that knew that and why, when they call Cleland a hero who lost 3 limbs in Viet Nam, doesn't anyone mention he was playing Curly (stooges) and blew his own limbs off. When it is not mentioned everyone assumes it was in heavy combat or something.
I thank Max for fighting in Viet Nam but quit using the missing limbs for a sympathy vote.
