Interesting question. Am I better off with or without him? What are the alternatives? Kerry? Dean? 3rd Party Spoiler?
Stay married because the alternative sucks, but when he wants sex, tell him he is on his own.
Lesson learned: no one is going to look after you better than you. We have been rather complacent (as a whole) demanding the attention we deserve.

Turnabout analogy is fair play:
You are advocating dumping a wife who stepped out on you once or twice and marrying Helen Thomas.
Better you than me!

Your other option is a partner who will never lock the door even when criminals have moved into the neighborhood, gives your money to every tramp who shows up at the door, thinks the corrupt Frenchman down the block has to give you permission before you install a secrity system, falls in love with idiotic rhetoric and spouts it all the time( Wanna wake up every morning to "I'm going to fight for you"?) and pays the IRS more than is owed because she thinks you are too rich.

Stay with your "cheating" spouse. You don't have the money to afford Kerry's lifestyle needs.

I honestly don't see how maintaining a database of every American citizen is a violation of civil rights....
Is my freedom of speech violated? No.
Is my freedom of religion violated? No.
Is my freedom of press, my right to bear arms, my freedom of association violated? No.
So what if the federal government has a record of my residence, my hair color, my license plate? SOME government agency SOMEWHERE has this information.
If the MATRIX was in place, would Mohammed Atta have been arrested when he was pulled over just weeks before 9/11? Quite possibly.
So let's dispense with the paranoia until the Matrix is actually used to violate the civil rights of citizens.

Predictably, a lot of people here have taken your allegory and admonished you not to leave your "wife" (GW) for *CHOKE* a "gay lover" (Kerry, Dean, etc.) or such like...
However, there's no law you have to re-marry or form another relationship after you divorce your wife---in fact, unless you really, really, really find the right person, all you're doing is putting enormous power over your life, freedom, and assets in the power of another person.
No, after you get rid of the no good tramp, you might just be happier being celibate...

I think the analagy is false...you are not "married" to the mob, the repubbies, the church, your school, state, country or the Green Bay Packers, the Chicago Cubs or your bowling team...
The bible tells us to beware the "Spirit of Party"...
This will turn into another Schwartzenegger-McClintock debate soon enough except we dont have a McClintock all we got is Kerry-Lurch
Prez Bush doesnt need to appeal to his base...cause like the man said...Who ya gonna call?
their aint nobody else...
The new Republican motto seems to be .."Vote for us, cause we aint as bad as the other choice"
Maybe its an even worse choice knowing that if GW wins this time its Hillary in four years after
If Kerry wins maybe the people will be soooo upset they will find a REAL conservative to vote for and vote nothing but good honest conservatives into every state house and the congress and senate...
Give us Kerry so we can choke on him....and be soooo sick of him and the elite of his ilk ...we will never again accept such fiscal and moral depravity in our govt officals...
The choice of not ONE but ta ta ta Two Skull & Boners....gee what are the odds of that
Our central planers have hit a home run this time...

What did I do that was wrong? I've said out loud to everyone willing to listen that I'm in love, yet my partner bows to the wishes of another man after all?You know what you did wrong? You sat by silently while all the clues were there that she wasn't sincere - and did nothing. You just kept saying to yourself, "I can't do any better, so I'll settle for this."
Now is the time to be strong and find out what YOU really want out of life and go for it! Great analogy by the way! I hope you 'get' mine :-)
We've been fooled, or at least some of us were (not me). There's an old saying - "Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me." - that we all need to think about during the upcoming election year, jmo.

Would you stay married if your partner was cheating on you?
For better or for worse, until death do us part.
I hear the argument you are making, but are you sure that's the best analogy?
Besides, were we to leave, the ex would get the house, the kids (the future), the dogs, and probably be able to use the force of law to take everything else I've got. It would be better to reconcile and persuade the spouse/partner to work with me to make things better.
To: B4Ranch
When I look at the White House and the domestic policies coming from our President, I feel that my vote was used by a man who doesn't love what I love, The United States Of America. This charge that President Bush does not love this country is absolutely absurd.
And now to compare your disagreements with him to a cheating spouse?
Ludicrous.
Get a grip. Yes, I understand the complaints, though I think some deliberately mischaracterize in order to perpetuate their drama, but you have escalated the rhetoric to ridiculous heights.
To: B4Ranch
Here is my take on it. If you can divorce your wife without having the ugliest, stinkiest, obnoxious NOW/NARAL representative from moving in after she goes then divorce her.
BUT, if she is merely going to be replaced with an ugly, mean-spirited, old bag who is friends with Ted Kennedy and will likely burn down your house then I would say its better to keep your wife and try and coax her back to the right path.
Good luck.
To: B4Ranch
At least it would give you a reason to keep beating her.
