I didn't know about him until radio. He does write incredibly well, not like the usual political books out now. He has a gift for conveying his thoughts.

When I owned the ranch in Lamar County, there was pride in say you were a Texas Republican. Where did it go? Even my old banker swapped to the Independent Party.

I find myself in a similar situation. I've never voted for a Democrat in my entire life, and have always supported the Republican candidates for President and Congress.

I voted that way because I believed what they said about wanting less government and more Freedom.

Now the Republicans control everything in Washington. The federal budget has grown at a rate not seen since LBJ. The federal government is continuting to consolidate power, and even implement programs which are simply un-American such as TIPS.

They have done nothing to restore our Freedoms. Quite the contrary, they are infringing upon them at an alarming rate. I can't remember an adminstration that launched such an assault on the Bill of Rights as this one has. And I expect things to get only worse.

At this point, I'm planning to write in Ron Paul for President during the primary down here in Florida.

But it looks like either way, we're screwed this year. It's either going to be the statist Bush or the statist Kerry, or perhaps even Klinton.

Take a look at #260 by Capitalist Eric.

Don't pat me on the back too much for post #260. I just took a quote that I thought was approriate, for the situation.

However, I did post the entire editorial by Claire Wolfe (Land Mine Legislation), since the article is as applicable today, as when it was written (in 1998).

Funny thing, though: when I went to read the response by someone, the message that came up was:

This thread has been pulled.

Pulled on 01/31/2004 5:49:01 PM PST by Lead Moderator, reason:

Claire Wolfe isn't wanted here. [emphasis added]

I've received a few FReepmails, that seem to confirm my suspicions- that neither Claire Wolfe- nor reality- is welcome on this forum...

I'll FReepmail this to you, just in case the lead moderator gets squishy again...

(((totally disgusted)))

I honestly don't see how maintaining a database of every American citizen is a violation of civil rights....

It's simply un-American

Not too long ago, it was one of the characterics of the USSR that American parents told their children about.

So what if the federal government has a record of my residence, my hair color, my license plate?

They want more. Much more.

If the MATRIX was in place, would Mohammed Atta have been arrested when he was pulled over just weeks before 9/11? Quite possibly.

I doubt it. Consider the fact that they ignored much more direct evidence such as flight instructors contacting them about some of the hijackers. They also ignored the fact that several of them overstayed their visas.

So let's dispense with the paranoia until the Matrix is actually used to violate the civil rights of citizens... Lunatic Fringe

The bible tells us to beware the "Spirit of Party"...

Isn't there also something about worshiping false idols?
