I will vote for President Bush, the right man for the time

Posted on 01/31/2004 5:44:41 AM PST by ShelleyAa

“Bush is the right man at the right time.”

Over the past three years, Americans have seen great changes. With September 11, came an awakening to the greatness our nation holds, seeing strength in the face of many. A united front shown, a love for country expressed. Then ever so slightly, a cloud of heaviness and pessimism, as anti-war and anti-American word spoken by protestors, Democrat partisans and Hollywood elite darkened our daily view. Congress resolution, as well as UN Resolution passed. The brief Afghanistan and Iraqi wars victoriously fought by brave American and Coalition partners brought back pride for those that sacrificed, as well as those who fought. Continual fight on terror for years to come explained, Patriot Act passed, new security department formed. Saddam captured and Iraqi people liberated, again America is blessed. Corporate scandals already started, economy and stock market already in decline, within a short period an upward swing. Promised tax relief to all, tax relief received. The horrendous partial-birth abortion, finally buried. Education and Health bills passed in bi-partisan way. Unprecedented obstruction of President Bush’s judicial nominees, with minority, Democrat Senators, a floor debate not allowed. Hate from left spoken continually, with ever increasing beat. Through the entire three years, our nation had one constant, a leader and man of integrity, seeing us through.

President Bush, my leader has shown himself to be neither showman, nor follower, nor poll-driven politician. He is a person with passion for our country and its people. He has had to make courageous and difficult decisions. At times, offending both the right and left wishes, doing what he deemed in the best interest of our nation. With his faith projected, a trusted, compassionate leader, he reminds us, “Americans are a free people, who know that freedom is the right of every person and the future of every nation. The liberty we prize is not America’s gift to the world; it is God’s gift to humanity.” His vision seen in word and action looks to the sky and to our neighbors and sees how the future could be different. Thankfully, both confidence and humility are characteristically shown in his person. As a leader, he placed good and capable people around him, not always having to be the one to take credit for the positive taken place. President Bush has shown that his purpose is larger than those that preach partisanship and his actions have shown this to as true.

Many Democrats partisans have no appreciation for President Bush’s direction. Obstruction and useless rhetoric displayed as they purposely place hunger for power over what is good for the nation. In communion with France and Germany, many Democrats demand that UN is in control of America’s military interest. In contrast, our president’s words, “Whatever action is required, whatever action necessary, I will defend the freedom and security of the American people.” How comforting to know that he will consult, but leadership is what we will see, not desiring the next to clean up the mess.

Sadly, short attention spans we have, not remembering the embarrassment of the last and dwelling only on the spin of the present. So many willing to demand one’s way, not considering the consequence of a liberal directed society that would come.

Zell Miller, a Democrat Senator from Georgia will be voting for President Bush this coming election. When asked why, he states, “Bush is the right man at the right time.” He goes on to state, “The next five years will determine the kind of world my children and grandchildren will live in. And I do not ‘trust’ any of the nine Democratic presidential candidates governing during this crucial period. ”

President Bush is a proven leader, a compassionate and genuine man. Through the fire tested, how thankful our nation should be.

George Bush is the greatest president since Reagan, I think he won't miss your vote, nor those of all the far right political hermits posting here.

On the contrary, "the consequences of a liberal directed society" under GWB are exactly the concern.

Then let me be more precise. In my opinion, Bush is on the same level as Reagan. Bush and Reagan are the two greatest presidents of my lifetime (which goes back to 1954).

I think he's excellent. One of the problems is that the word "conservative" covers 2 types of folks: fiscal conservatives for whom the prime consideration is spending, and social conservatives, who are willing to spend if the spending implements or encourages ideas that are important to them.

One of the causes of dispute right now is that these two groups are bickering over who is the "real" conservative, with the former opposing Bush and the latter generally liking him.

I'm self employed and write my own checks to the IRS, and I really resent having to give almost a third of what I earn to the Federal Government. However, I'd have to give it anyway, because realistically speaking, we're never going to go to zero government spending. I'm much happier with the way Bush wants to spend it than with the way any Dems propose on spending it.

I am very much a one-issue voter. My issue is strict constructionism. I have voted for conservatives to achieve smaller government. Obviously GWB is not my man. The administration has made a calculation wherein they feel they can lose the votes of people like me while picking up more from the left. So be it.

You sweetie pie, had been a proven Bush supporter during the first election cycle.

I remember our many talks and fun evenings during that time and I even remember the hard work you did on the video for the Inaugural Ball.

I don't have a problem with people who genuinely feel some angst or whatever towards Bush for whatever reason they feel he has betrayed them.

I have a problem with some long time posters here, who I CLEARLY remember as not having supported BUSH at any time.

I cannot sit back and let them jump on this forum and slam him left and right, and derride his genuine supporters when they know damn well they were never in his corner to begin with.

The fringers are on my radar...and I am going to out them at every opportunity.

You aren't a fringer....

"I have voted for conservatives to achieve smaller government."

Which president has reduced the size of government? None of them. I'd say your efforts are failing. You can continue your strategy and promote an even greater expansion of government via the Democrat presidents that may be elected thereby. You'll also be contributing to a weaker and less secure America.
