CNN is reporting new threats..

CNN just reported breaking news at the top of the hour..... that a new threat has been recieved by the US in the last 48 hours to use an aircraft to attack either Washington DC or LA. The flights mentioned are Air France and British Airways. CNN is reporting that this threat has been judged to be credible .......and not rehashed intelligence from last months warnings.

With the tight security it would be very hard to pull off an attack on the SuperBowl, but I suppose they could try to attack elsewhere during the SuperBowl.

That thread may not have had a source but ......you pay attention to those sort of threads when they pop up.

I remember on the day we avenged 9/11 that Sunday ....a freeper posted a thread about scuttlebutt he had heard in DC and that we were going to attack the Taliban within the hour.....well it happened as that freeper posted.

Never saw that poster again......so I always pay attention to those hit and run posts.

I thought the date was 2/4. May be wrong, but when they elevated the level before it seems to me they designated the threat as lasting through 2/4. I think there was some Islamic significance to the date 2/4. I'll have to go see if I can pull up an old thread.

The terrorists on the planes are obviously traveling to the US and they would be illegals if they survive the crash. Unless the state dept already granted them visas, which they probably did.

Wouldn't flights from Europe pretty much be just about out of gas by the time they reach this country -- especially the left coast? I think what made the 9/11 attacks so hideous was the near-full tanks of jet fuel. I could smell that from a few blocks away.
