CNN is reporting new threats..

CNN just reported breaking news at the top of the hour..... that a new threat has been recieved by the US in the last 48 hours to use an aircraft to attack either Washington DC or LA. The flights mentioned are Air France and British Airways. CNN is reporting that this threat has been judged to be credible .......and not rehashed intelligence from last months warnings.

That part's always annoyed me. "Dear Citizen: someone (we don't know who) is actively planning to visit upon you and yours a terrible death (we don't know when or how). Carry on

MSNBC picking this up on their update at 1/2 past the hour. Similar threats as around New Years.

I wonder if this Arab pilot who escaped the last time (thanks to the French) booked another flight.

That would be something--surely Al Qaeda must know that those flight numbers are being watched. I always thought that the flight numbers thing was a ruse--take 10 guys you suspect are informants, give each one of them a different flight number, and then when you hear what the US suspects will be a target, you know which of the guys is an informant.

If we do have a human source, I wish we'd use it more wisely than announcing to the world which flight numbers we think are going to be targeted! It doesn't take a brilliant terrorist to figure out that we are ripe for some disinformation with that strategy.
