Is this the same Neil Boortz? He used to be a libertarian.

I also consider myself a libertarian, and I totally agree with Neil's view about the election. Inspite of all the waste of good money, I see Bush advancing the libertarian ideals of freedom more than any Democrat. Plus, with nutcakes in the world who are bent on killing as many Americans as possible just because we are Americans, the idea of entrusting our defense to the likes of Howard Dean or Al Sharpton or Dennis Kucinich sends chills up my back.

And I see Ted Bundy advancing law and order more than Henry Lee Lucas too...

What's your point?

I'm not in a state of alarm, or scared. I haven't felt a need to turn over my freedoms for liberties. But damn it, the government has a job to do, and it ain't getting precription plans for seniors. It is national defense, and since that is an important issue with me, I will vote for Bush again. I feel safer knowing something is being done to confront these people.

While I did entertain the idea of a Democratic president with the Republican house and senate, and thus the ensuing gridlock, I thought about the WOT and that thought quickly left my mind. Dept of Peace? No thanks. UN sovereignty? No thanks. International Criminal Court? No thanks. And what did Kerry say last night? That the terrorists aren't really a threat to us? No thanks, Mr. Head-in-Sand.

But I'll tell you what. The Republicans had better do an about face on the spending, or 2008 I'm going to the dance with someone else, because I'm not staying home.

On the off chance that you're serious, the political left has been getting its way, not by demanding everything at once, but just little by little gradually over time. That's what we have to do.

Right now, some stupid environmental regulations have been changed into something that involves reason, there's a good chance we'll see an end to the estate tax and there's a push to allow people school choice and to put at least some of their money that would otherwise go to the FICA tax into their own private retirement accounts.

Those things aren't everything, but they're a good start. And it would be a travesty to see them squashed in their infancy merely on the grounds that Bush doesn't meet the libertarian ideals of Harry Browne or Ron Paul.

Doesn't meet libertarian ideals?

Bush is the biggest leftist to EVER come down the pike.

He's a social-spending nightmare.

He's championed conservative issues, just not "all conservative issues."

If we are talking about the current president, he seems to comprehend the difference between the 3 branches of government. I believe he also gets the constitutional duty of the administration to manage the common defense. (I agree with his methods up to now.) Yet in handling the nations domestic "problems" he seems to be in lock step with the majority of the congress that there is no problem so large that heaving cash at it won't take care of it. Also, there is no spending issue too large that it should be considered a bad "investment."

Irrational hyperbole alert.

Irrational hyperbole alert.

He's advocated (and signed into law) unprecedented levels of social spending.

More than any president in the history of the republic.

Feel free to prove me wrong.

(or not)

Islamic goons and spending are not mutually exclusive. For example, if another terrorist attack occurs on our soil, imagine the chaos it will cause to our economy, and the resulting spending boon by the government. We've already seen it once. And, in order to protect our country against these Islamic goons, the government has to use our tax dollars to protect us. Now, some may not like how the government is using the money to protect us, but spending DOES have to happen to make the country secure.

So I agree with Neil on this one.

Thank goodness for the NEA and free prescription drugs.

Otherwise we wouldn't be safe.

If you believe that, just elect a democrat.

First every terrorist now being held will be released.

A concentrated attack will be launched on the Second Amendment. All pivate firearms will be confinskated.

Only politically correct speech will be tolerated. All other speech will be considered hate speech and be prosecuted as such.

There will be more terrorist attacks over here that in Israel.

You don't know what terror is.

Imagine a village of young Christian girls in the Sudan or Chad after they have been raided by the muslims and all the adults and young men have been shot.

They have you herded in a group and armed muslim men are running around in a frenzy shouting, "allah akbar!" You know what is going to happen next.

That, my friend is terror. If you don't think it can happen here, elect a democrat President and Congressmen[women].

I suspect what many are trying to determine, is how spending on the NEA, Prescription Drugs, et al protects us from terrorists. Can you provide your theory?

Wrong translation..It means I won't further waste my time with an consistantly negative jackass. See? Very clear.. Now, back to your tin foil hat making. We have no further need for contact.
