"Didn't Kerry toss his medals?" From what I've heard, he tossed someone else's medals and claimed at the time that they were his.

If you consider not finishing your tour of duty and joining the VVAW in organizing protests with the Communists, Jane Fonda, etc. honorable then I suppose he was. I personally think his service was disgraceful and the circumstances under which he received his medal was questionable. It is politically correct to say that someone is heroic because he served, but the fact that he endangered even further the lives of his fellow soldiers upon returning home and lied about atrocities they committed (admitting later that he never actually witnessed these incidents) does not make him a hero. Nor does the fact that he was sweeping an investigation under the rug in the early 90's that could have potentially brought live POW/MIA's home make him deserving of honor. I'm sorry, but I just do not see it.

"I agree and to try to attack him on his time in the service "
As you can see I was talking about his time serving not after.

He was an opportunist and a skunk when he got back, but his service was evidently highly commendable We have in our history a similar officer, one who gave commendable service, right up to the point when he gave aid and comfort to the enemy: Benedict Arnold.
When Kerry threw (whoever's) medals over the fence, and started hanging with the Hanoi Jane crowd he lost any claim to respect for his military service in my book.

He did not finish his tour of duty and used a loophole to leave - not very honorable. His behavior after his service cannot be severed from his time in Vietnam. Kerry is a disgrace - it appears that his service was not for his country or the defeat of communism, but for his political future - the same reason he is running for president.

Here's one criticism of Kerry some of you won't like - he volunteered for the US Navy at the very height of the Viet Nam War.
In fact, his draft cohort yielded up the LARGEST number of draftees for the Infantry and the Marine Corps in American history.l
Still, he managed to enlist in the Navy!
The price to join the National Guard was $800. What was it to get into the Navy?
Some of you folks beating up on Kerry know the price ~ I've always been curious about it. Let's see what John had to pay.

How many Boat People ended up like Mary Jo Kopechne so that this narcissistic poodle could have a career as Boy Toy to the Jane Fondas of this country?

Kerry went mental and took it out on the troops from 1969 to 1972. When did GWB serve in the guard ?

I had never heard of the three purples and you get a ticket home. In fact I have yet to meet anyone that ever heard of it. Makes you wonder how Kerry found it.
