Can you name one third party that's even a footnote on the page? I can't. Just a way to register a protest...and it doesn't even make a difference. It's sort of like kicking the tires on a car when it won't run cause it's out of gas......Well duh!

As I said you do not understand that this isn't done on judicial nominees. You can't adjust, add to or change a nominee like you can a bill and compromise.
It's a solid Dem move to please their base. They approved a lot of judges, decided they would not allow others and have held their ground.

If you don't support the Republican nominee, then you, sir, are the real RINO.Barbara Hafer was the only Republican I didn't vote for in 2000 (Pennsylvania). Am I a RINO?

I haven't always held these beliefs, however, dealing with people like you always reminds me why I know longer feel much allegiance to the Republican party.
True freedom is not having to have everything in your life controlled by a dominant federal government. As far as I can tell, both parties want one thing more than any other: power.
In all seriousness, I would love to hear what freedom means to you. Go ahead and give it a shot. Also, what do you think our founding fathers would think about our current state?(especially George Washington and Thomas Jefferson)
To: Jim Robinson
Thanks Jim.It is nice to know you are, in addition to the owner ,as well as leader of this site, also a clear eyed realist in this world of sudden terror and and cowardly attacks upon freedom.. in all it means. Let's roll.. we have a war to win and a Nation to keep as a beacon for all that is right in human history. At risk of sounding corny, it is our mission from God.

Okay, then by your admission and the AP article, the NEA giveaway is going up a proposed 15%.
That is 20% too much. It should be going down 5% a year until it's gone.

You and I won't agree on this one. You give Rove way too much credit, IMO.
Rove is a trusted advisor, but the President is in charge.
There's no way that he would make a calculated effort to lose conservative votes.
I know that you don't trust that the President is an honorable man, but I believe he is doing what he believes is right, regardless of the political cost.
Not saying he doesn't factor in votes in his decisions......he's a very good politician. But the bottom line is that he does what he believes in.
And IMO, that deserves respect even when you disagree.

He has NOT be " silent " on the Zimbabwe problem and IF you had read the AFRICA WATCH threads, you would know that.

I didn't get that "logic" either.
Split the conservative vote and elect Kerry?
Worked wonders in 1992, didn't it? Also in 1968, 1912, 1848, etc.

Freepin-Dittos...
The Bush machine may be back firing and runnin on low tires with cross eyed headlights but hes runnin... like an antique Ford (TRUE) but hes not a Yugo(democrat) up on blocks...
Anybody that don't see they have no real choice but to vote for Bush.. needs to walk home barefoot..
To: kitkat
Well, I'll admit it would be convenient for YOU if you could get me to say Bush is liberal. You do not have a chance in hell of baiting me into saying something I don't believe. I haven't said he's a liberal myself, so I can't imagine why you'd think I'm baiting you. IMO, his foreign policy has been conservative while his domestic policy is straight down the center. Neither liberal nor conservative in the aggregate; I'd call him a political moderate.
Back to my original question, I wonder why you'd expect his policy positions to change substantially as he moves into a second term. I believe we'll continue to see the same mixed bag as in the first term - some very hopeful bright spots followed by some real lowlights. But a significant lurch to the right? I doubt it...you mentioned you feel differently though, and I'm genuinely interested in learning why.

The blocking judges thing is really only an issue with the SCOTUS when it comes to stopping socialism Did you read those memos??

Another 8 years of Clinton hack swill promote your party IMO, Clinton was the best thing to happen to conservatives and to the conservative movement. If Bush I would've won reelection we'd still be on a slippery, complacent slope (plus there'd be no FR, no NewsMax, no Drudge :-)
To: Lazamataz
Your tagline is not funny,Laz.It would be better if you prayed for President Bush ,that he be guided to act wisely and for the good of our nation.

I invite you to read "Dereliction of Duty"! OK, the author may have a difference of opinion with me with regards to a Dem president, but if I read your post correctly, his focus was national security. I personally think economics is more important in the long run as national security can be ramped up and down in fairly short order. Besides, what Prez, be it Dem or Rep would want to shoulder the blame for a terrorist attack on the US? This alone should be enough to keep a Prez vigilant. The problem with the fiscal side however is that the damage Bush is doing today will not be felt until years down the road, long after he has left office. Knowing this, he is doing damage with impunity and when the time comes to pay the bill, it will be whatever poor schmuck is in office to be the bearer of bad news.
