Strangely, this does not violate the 1967 UN Outer Space Treaty. Moon development would, though, as soon as one speck of moondust is used in itself.

Thousands of people have paid to have messages, business cards, art or ashes of loved ones sent to the Moon on the Trailblazer robotic probe, which if successful will slam into the lunar surface and squash any doubt about the looming commercialization of space.

More power to 'em. 'Course, what they're sending is less of a space vessel than a missile. Going up and out isn't the hard part. It's landing in one piece and returning in one piece that's the real trick.

What these people are essentially accomplishing is a Suicide Sputnik. It's cool and all, but it's been done...almost 50 years ago.

Recent studies have shown that planet Earth is held in such fine balance that the departure of more than 33,708 business cards at one time will result in an ex-solar orbit. This venture should be illegal.

Won't they be surprised when they try to photograph the Apollo sites only to find them non-existent?

Some polidiot will pass a littering law for the moon soon hopefully. Nothing quite as human as trashing pristene real estate ! But then maybe using the moon as a dumpsite may not be such a bad idea. Of course it would only be possible if we could just figure out how to make cheap rocket fuel from greasy socialist democrat polidiots and their supporters.........:o)

Stay Safe !
