Look, we've got to win the bloody election before anything else can be done. Can't you see that?

It's politically wise (though ethically challenged) to buy votes from swing voters.

It's both unethical and dumb to try and buy votes from those who'll NEVER vote for you in a million years.

No matter what it costs? Bull $hit! I'm getting damned tired of people telling me that I have to prostitute my ideals just to win an election. I voted against his father because he was out of touch. If W gets any further out of touch, he can do without my vote as well.

but it doesn't work for Bush, he gets no mass media attention for this, and only negative coverage from conservative media sources, so its a net loss. its the insanity of Karl Rove again.

//////////////
No, you don't get it: Rove is brilliant (just like with the amnesty proposal).

(We conservatives are all just too dumb to appreciate it!)

This is Crap (Of the same sort that showed up on a religious work masquerading as ART!)

I believe art is terribly important to us but in this PC world, if we have to accept and promote garbage....No Thanks!

Is bush a closet socialist?

That's like asking "Is Richard Simmons a closet homosexual?"

No, not Kerry or any them, I am just on a rant tonight. This kind of stuff just gets my blood pressure up.
It just seems as if Bush is make a number is miscues lately on these programs he is proposing.
I understand the budget deficit, we are at war, but we need to reign in spending on social programs, we really can't afford the Prescription Drug Bill and then on top of that Health Insurance for everyone. We can't pay for it. If Health Insurance is enacted on top of the Drug Bill we will be looking at another $2 Trillion in government spending in about 10 years or less.

Are you saying that once Bush is re-elected, all these things he was doing to pander votes from moderates and the left, will be overturned?

By your logic, wouldn't that cause the next GOP candidate to be looking bad in the polls for the 2008 election?

We'll see, but this is a mistake if true.

So, because you're so upset you're willing to bring into power someone who will get millions of Americans killed, to throw away the sacrifices of those who are dying now, and all the rest.

Just to satisfy your petty ideolgical needs. Pathetic.

When President Kerry or Edwards ends the War on Terrorism and, then, two years later Islamists blow up New York City, remember this and know that everyone who did not fully back the President is responsible.

If Bush went with the policies you demand of him, he'd be right where the Constitution Party is in the polls, or where Pat Buchannan was in 2000. Get it?

You're free to have a lot more principles when you don't have to govern.

Try reading your own tagline.

You don't get "victory" over the "left" by "imitating" the left?

Duh.

I bet the so called funding increase here is smaller than the 50 million dollar project for a "Rain Forest" build in the middle of Iowa! I'd rather to see the increase of NEA than to build a silly "Rain Forest" within a greenhouse in Iowa! What's next, a tropical fish museum in Alaska?

This is just another reason I will NOT be voting for Bush again. I will stay home. At the rate he is spending our money, I will not be able to afford the time from work to go vote. More reasons are as follows..
Kennedy education bill.
Immigration amnesty plan.
Failure to protect our borders.
Failure to veto a single pork filled appropriation bill.
Failure to recess appoint his blocked judges.(except 1)
Failure to deport illegals when caught.
Rx drug plan for ALL seniors. Not just the poor as it should be.
Failure to reduce our energy depedence on the Saudis. A threat to our national security, in my opinion.
Failure to reverse Clintons executive orders of huge land grabs all over the country.
I could go on but i'm getting nauseous.

The 1996 GOP platform called for abolishing the Department of Education and ending "federal meddling in schools.", it also called for eliminating the departments of Commerce, Energy, and Housing and Urban Development and the National Endowment for the Arts.

Thanks. You are supporting my point entirely. The fact is the GOP continues to move to the left with every election. And the claims by some that this is just to get votes for relection and then it will be overturned are baloney.

"But, if it goes to fund patriotic art- what's wrong with that? A good use of money, so far as I'm concerned."

Because there's A) No constitutional authroity for it and B) it's our damn money and C) if somebody wants to buy patriotic art, they should pay for it out of their pocket, not mine.

But I guess we should be glad, who else are we going to vote for, huh? I guess the apologists will just continue that mantra until a real rino like guiliani is nominated in 2008, and we should all shut up and be happy about it because, after all, the guy has an (R) next to his name.

it makes perfect sense that the government should spend money to encourage patriotism, does it not?

What is patriotic about "Piss Christ"?

If Bush wins, he's got 2005 through early 2007 to do some real stuff. Especially if more Republicans win in the Senate.

Remember, the next President will get to appoint a number of Supeme Court Justices. Do you really think that you'll be happy with the ones appointed by a President Dean or Kerry? Or, God forbid, Clinton? Do you?

Will you be happy when those judges legalize faggot marriage, that you opposed the President?
