More than that they won just there. Look at how islam is now the love affair of the left? Even Bush praises it in the SOTU now.
9/11 was the biggest PR coup in history. It helped islam's cause. Most of the top guys were never found. And everyone's already forgotten about it basically.
If you ask me, we gave them every indication that we only respond with half assed measures and it helps them politically too. Great job we've done.

I spent a church weekend outing with the father in law of the pilot of that plane (I'm pretty sure it was flight 11). what a dear man, from a dear family. the pilot was a hero before he got on that plane, having dealt with a hijacker on a previous occasion.
his widow was instrumental in pushing for legislation to allow flight crews to carry sidearms.
I have said for some time now that, were the populace armed on 9/11/01, the Twin Towers would still be standing today.

Two hijackers nearly killed you? Were you supposed to be on one of those planes that morning?
I have this page 9-11-01 WE WILL NEVER FORGET bookmarked on my computer. I occassionally take a look at it when I feel lifes many problems and this reminds me that my problems are really nothing. I think about all those people who died and their children, wives, husbands and family then realize how lucky the rest of us are.
But, it also brings back that horrible day so that we will neve forget even though the media has some type of aversion by not showing this horrible day in history that will live in infamy no matter what. It's one of the best collage's of this moment in history that I've seen and it's a daily reminder of good and evil and what we are seeking justice for.
I suggest all take a look at it. I don't know who to credit for this work, but he should be commended for gathering all of these photos and archiving them all in one place. It also make me sad, too.

FYI, in the internet age it is extremely easy to keep a bookmark list of posts, articles, etc. about a subject that is of interest. It isn't like a "Conspiracy Theory" Mel Gibson safe house with tin foil walls, file cabinets, and self destruct mechanisms.
If you've been surfing the net for any lenght of time, hasn't your IE favorites or Netscape bookmark list gotten pretty long? You read something interesting, figure you might want to refer back in the future, one mouse click and now you have the start of your own set of "files."
It sounded like you were a bit freaked about the concept of "having files" but I think you have the wrong connotation there. Then again ...

OMG I had to stop listening, partially because of the feelings it brought back but also because so many people HAVE forgotten. Here is a campaign suggestion for 2004: instead of campaigning, put the contributions towards a cable channel that played this 24x7 in every media market in the country.

It's not even clear how many had box cutters vs other kinds of knives. I read another story saying a few may have had 'leatherman' type of folding knives. It is known some of the terrorists bought them and they were not found with the rest of their belongings later. Knives with less than 4 inch blades were not prohibited on planes at the time (pre-911). Nobody knows exactly what weapons they had, now it sounds like knives and mace but no gun (as previously reported one of the flights).

I think most people would share your reactions. I think these tapes should have been released with better timing in order to remind Joe Average about 9/11... but I'm conservative.
Now if I were a democrat I would want to 'bury' this tape story and keep letting 9/11 disappear into the past; out a sight outa mind for Joe Average methinks. To help that outcome I would release them whilst all media is preoccupied with a mayor event; say the NH primaries. Notice the PM time stamps on the article etc?
Anyone else notice it? Will the tapes make GMA or anything? Just watch and report for me. I'm interested in media manipulation -- it is an election year over there (I hear). Have the voting systems been secured to prevent another 2000 voting free for all?

The laying down of mace or some other chemical barrier makes it sound like this was rehearsed, possible countermeasures by the crew or passengers like maybe an off-duty cop or something were considered , and contingencies built in. Oh, I don't know, maybe rehearsed in a cabin mock up? I wonder who had one of those?
With the pre 9/11 screening rules, this chemical could have been hidden in a can of spray deodorant or some other part of a toiletries kit.

I've heard about the leathermans, but never about the mace. Seriously, did y'all know about the mace before hearing this audio?

Thank you for the kind words. Very comforting. I wrote that late one night, in a stream of consciousness thing a few weeks afterward. Tonight, I cleaned it up a little after I realized there were some typos and left out words.

No, I never heard about any mace or gas before reading this. Nor did some others here, judging from the earlier posts on the thread.
