It is not issued to any agencies in the UK and is believed to have been imported from the US." Odds are this is not possible. They are simply trying to demonize the United States because of its lack of gun control. They are unwilling to admit the failure of their own gun control efforts. The Glock 18 is banned in America from import, manufacture, possession or anything else. You simply cannot obtain one legally here. The odds of one leaving the U.S. is very high. Why would they say it came from here and not from some place where it is legal? Only to demonize us.
See one here and here.

I'm wondering if the gun tried to flee during the raid. Didi the gun swear at the cops and spit on them?

This handgun sounds to me about as useful as a saddle on a sow.
I've seen a couple of M 1911s go full auto and after the first shot the shooter was blowing holes in the sky.

Actually, from my experience, the most terrifying gun in the world...
...is the one pointed at ya.

THE first fully automatic handgun to surface in the UK... What, they never ran into a Mauser "Schnellfeuer" or any of the Astra or Star select-fire pistols, or even the full-auto version of the Beretta 92? Where have they been for the last century?

"Why even a criminal would want to own such a gun is beyond me."
I'm not a criminal, and I'd love one!
"It would probably bethe ultimate in gun status-symbols."
Damn right. :) So?
THE first fully automatic handgun to surface in the UK - capable of firing 1,100 rounds a minute - has been seized in a police raid.
Assuming you can change the freaking 19 round magazine that fast! It would take 58 magazines to fire 1100 rounds.

I see only one course of action avalible to the British Government at this point.
Ban the guns.....
Oh wait, they already did that.
Well, the only LOGICAL step would be to go to the UN and have them Ban Guns in the USA, since all gun crime in England seems to come from the US.
I think they're working on that.

capable of firing 1,100 rounds a minute.... Capable, yes. Probable? Not until they make one big a$$ magazine or a belt fed variety. Talk about scare tactics and sensational reporting.

A Met firearms expert said: "It's extremely worrying that such a weapon is here. I can't stress enough just how dangerous this gun is. It's only a pistol for heaven's sake. You couldn't hit anything at 300 meters with it deliberately and even if you did by accident, it wouldn't hurt anything.
