I have this to say about the Anti-Bush Conservative. Any Democrat will be a disaster that will make the Clinton era Pale in comparison. Bush was been right more than wrong and all these whiners need to look at the big picture. This is why I wrote this poem and continue to post it.
Focus
Keep the faith and hang in there,
We need you, dont lose sight.
Your support and yes your vote,
Will make this come out right.
Its early yet but time moves fast,
So please dont wait too long.
Lets pull together once again,
To keep our country strong.
Kerry, Clark, or Howard Dean,
Who knows which one will be.
The one the democrats will pick,
To be their nominee.
The lucky winner gets to run,
A race he must not win.
Yes come November Oh Oh Four,
George Bush it is again!

Stop being the voice of reason and join the Chicken Little Extreme right. Logic is wasted on them and that is why Bill Clinton was elected the first time. The fools went and voted Ross Perot to send a message. These people aim carefully when they shoot themselves in the foot!

Mr. Robinson:
At this time I respectfully request that Free Republic conduct a poll among its members regarding this immigration issue. I'm certain you can frame it in a fair and balanced manner. Thanks in advance to any consideration you might give to this proposal. I am interested in learning if the amount of people gravely concerned about this issue are a raving mad 2% as many on this thread claim.

If I may also submit a sample of questions:
1) Do you think the President's solution to immigration is good for America?
2) Do you believe this program is an amnesty program?
3) Do you believe this program will enhance national security in the future?
4) Do you believe this plan will be helpful to Republicans in the long term (ie Election 2008 and beyond?)
5) Do you believe it will be helpful in the short term?

Registation is not going to work. How many people here simply ignore exit dates and disappear. Millions?
...and what makes you think this is suddenly going to change?

But that doesn't answer my question above.
Do you *favor* or *oppose* Registering illegal aliens with our federal government?

Do you *favor* or *oppose* Registering illegal aliens with our federal government? You are playing footsie, and you know it. You'll try to posit some premise that if we register them, we'll be able to deport them when the time comes. This has already been demonstrated by the countless millions who are roaming the country unaccounted for. This idea is nothing new. It has already failed, but for some reason, you and your friends seem to think INS is going to suddenly started enforcing the law. Spare me, really.

Mohammed Atta was granted an entrance visa 6 months after 9-11. Meanwhile we continue to demand the shoes of grandmothers from Peoria.
If I say, "I favor it", then you'll simply say that I should be in agreement, what's the problem, that's what the President is trying to do.
If I say, "I don't favor it", then you'll say that I'm for illegal immigration. Your question is both erroneous, and transparent. It presupposes that there are no other alternatives, such as enforcing what is already on the books.
We already have anectdotal evidence coming in, illegals asking where they can sign up for the amnesty.
It's not going to work out like you all think it is. Register them, and at the end of the specified time, they'll pick up and go.
No, what's going to happen is they'll enlist the ACLU, a bunch of liberal activist judges who will work to grant them citizenship. Hillary Clinton will be all over this issue, pandering as she does best.
If this policy is implemented, you won't see another Republican president ever again, I know it, you know it, and most of all Hillary knows it.
Then what you'll have is a block of voters large enough to demand and get everything they want, and they be Democrats contrary to your delusions.
Yes, we'll win them over you say. How? Yes, by caving in to an endless stream of demands that the Democrats will only be too happy to grant.

I answered your questions and threw my latest political poem at you as an exchange.
If I may also submit a sample of questions:
1) Do you think the President's solution to immigration is good for America? It is not the plan I would have written but it is a viable plan. It will identify and place limits on those who have good intenet which will make the ill intents easy to detect and eject.
2) Do you believe this program is an amnesty program?
It is in a sense but not fully. It offers a grace period to register but not a permanent status.
3) Do you believe this program will enhance national security in the future? If it is followed up with tighter borders and the non-participants are hunted down and evicted.
4) Do you believe this plan will be helpful to Republicans in the long term (ie Election 2008 and beyond?) It could go either way.
5) Do you believe it will be helpful in the short term? Yes I do. We can not continue doing nothing like was the case in the past. Doing nothing is what got us here.
Bashers
The bashers really make me laugh,
They pick their whining point.
They shout and cry and jump about,
Their nose gets out of joint.
Immigration seems to be,
The one they like the best.
They offer no real counter plan,
Just buzz around like pests.
They say theyll vote for someone else,
Well heck that is their right.
Some say, that they, will just not vote,
That really isnt bright.
If democrats should win this thing,
Because we get distracted.
Weve shot our nation in the foot,
The pain will be protracted.
To anyone thats on the right,
My free advice will be.
Vote for Bush in Oh Oh Four,
Hes still the one, youll see.

So spare me the "you'll be putting the Democrats in power if you vote third party or stay home". I won't be voting for national suicide, which is what is going to happen as a result of this ill-conceived plan.
Your plan ensures Democrat supremacy throughout the spectrum of American political life for many, many years to come. That's what it does.

No, I'm asking you a direct question.
To answer this question, you actually have to take a position. You can't play both sides of this fence after you actually answer this direct question, and that fact seems to have you squirming.
Do you *favor* or *oppose* Registering illegal aliens with our federal government?
