JP, I notice that you post news stories as "activism", when they are not. They are either news or editorials.

"[Bush] has been sacrificing the conservatives to get to the middle,” said Brandon Swalley, director of the Free Republic Network

A question to Brandon, would you rather have nothing from a Kerry, Clark, or Edwards, or tax cuts, a war against terror, a PBA ban, nomination of conservative judges, provisions of privatization in the medicare bill, a President who is pushing tort reform and not in the pocket of the trial lawyers, a President who doesn't let the UN dictate foreign policy or economic policy.

Just my opinion Brandon, but you will be sacrificed a lot more if you help a Kerry, Clark, or Edwards, get into the White House.

Conservatives are also concerned about the president's proposal, announced earlier this month, to grant citizenship to millions of illegal immigrants working in the United States, and say the expansion of government has taken a toll on efforts to protect privacy.

Now, is granting citizenship really part of the proposal or is this just sloppy journalism? As they say... you decide.

Format note on your thread post: Please avoid abbreviation. In your post, the source link appears as "FOX". Would prefer "Fox News Channel" or "FOXNews.com". Grab a title actually used on the page of origin. Thanks.

He's been trying to please the Demonrats, ignorant American public that shows it always wants more of big gov't at the risk of his conservative base. Can't please everybody obviously. And the Demonrats are saying he doesn't spend enough! Bush has failed his claims at being conservative with his big spending caves to Demonrats, but for the election he can use it against the Demonrats who want to spend even more. He'd better learn that 'compromise' and trying to please Demonrats is not doing him any good. I haven't been happy with his domestic timidity.

Bush believes Govermnet is the answer, not the problem.

No matter whether you vote for a 'Republican' or 'Democrat' presidential candidate you will still get a Liberal in the White House. Bush has proven that with his complicity in CFR 1st Amendment destruction and associated IRS abuse, horrific entitlement spending increases (e.g Medicare), amnesty for illegal aliens, 'sneak and peek' in the Patriot Act, refusal to support the 10th Amendment to the Constitution, willing participation in the expansion of the Federal government (education via 'no child left behind', increasing EPA regulations, increasing NHSTA regulations), etc.

Bush is a Republican Liberal. His only difference with Liberals in the Democrat wing of the Liberal establishment is that his priorities for Big Government are slightly different from theirs - but with the same goal, complete subservience of Americans to their government and its associated political class.

A functioning definition of insanity is "doing the same thing repeatedly and expecting the results to be different".

Republicans have been elected. They have adopted the Liberal agenda and are enthusiastically putting in into place. Electing more Republicans will just result in more oppression, faster.

The only difference between the Republicans and the Democrats is that the Democrats want the US ruled by a combination of national and international despots while the Republicans will settle for tyranny by just national despots. The end result is the same - the destruction of our freedom.

Given the objectives of both parties are the same, how can anyone justify supporting either party?

Save America from the tyranny of Republican/Democrat hegemony. Support the Constitution Party.

This lines up pretty well with my own impressions. Most CPAC attendees I spoke with had nothing but praise for Bush regarding the war on terror, but were seriously dismayed at the barrage of new government programs and the massive increase in spending.

Though the dissension has picked up...

We're going to be seeing a lot of this stuff, so get used to it.

A bunch on the Left are trying to drive a wedge into the Republican Party......and a bunch on the Right are trying to drive a stake in it.

LOL! Now "Free Republic" honchos have joined the blacklist of "fringe extremists"! The "faithful remnant" of "mainstream conservatives" supporting Bush's "conservative policies" is dwindling away!

"[Bush] has been sacrificing the conservatives to get to the middle,” said Brandon Swalley, director of the Free Republic Network.

Exactly correct!

Thanks for pointing this out, fellow FReeper.
