Had an interesting chat with a co-worker today. We are high school educators and have been friendly for a decade but have never talked about religion/politics. (I am a news junkie; she's a muslim in hijab.) She and her family are very active in muslim conferences and travel a great deal to the Mid East.
A third party joined our discussion and stated that "we all need to learn more about Islam." The Muslim said, "Of course you do because in ten years, Muslims will be the majority in the world."
Somewhere down the line, I mentioned the al Mahdi and the oft-stated goal to establish the Caliphate and Sharia law across the globe. She had NO idea what I was talking about.
But here she is, a mother of 8 and a grandmother of 28 at last count...someone who travels frequently to the ME and has no clue as to what the fundamentalists are saying.

Sounds like a good actress. That's like saying you're Christian but not knowing anything about the 10 Commandments.

Women aren't allowed to read the Quran. Women aren't allowed to touch the Quran.
Islam is interpreted to them.
