You betcha. Today I cleaned my food pantry and assessed the canned items needed to survive an event that closes stores or prevents us from going anywhere. Made a list of must have items and will purchase them this week. Worst case is that our pantry is very well stocked come summertime. My biggest worry is that my family is scattered across this big country in many cities. I made it a point this week to e-mail those with computers and told them I love them for the same reasons you cited.

Made a list of must have items and will purchase them this week Just something to consider. We(people of the west) really only need to survive 3-4 days, 10 days max off the grid. Why just 10 days? If we really have a teotwawki event, there's simply no way we can prepare for months on end. Weeks, certainly...months/years? Heh. You show me a person prepared for a year without power and food and I will show you a guy with a gun to his head 2 weeks after he needs a year of power and food.
