Hello and welcome to FReeRepublic.A bump sends an article to the top of the forum and also bookmarks it in the posters comments for an easy find later on. A ping is sent to a group or a list of other freepers or an individual to alert them of an article. This is somewhat of a close nit group with a wide variance of ideas and political conviction. One of the things stressed here is truthfulness, you can be an ass if that is what you are as long as you are civil about it but don't try to be a saint and be found out later you are not. Whatever you post , remember you might be called on it down the road. Freepers are very unforgiving and have the memory of an elephant.Freepers are also the most loving, helpful and thoughtful people you will ever find. Again, welcome to FReeRepublic, may your stay be rewarding and educational.

I don't think there are many ways left to communicate unobserved.

FAX is CERTAINLY ****NOT**** IT.

SNAIL MAIL was not it as long as 30 years ago when we reportedly had machines which read mail automatically without opening it.

Nothing that goes electronically is that secure though very, very, very robust encryption with very long keys MIGHT be secure.

Perhaps standing in the forest near a waterfall with a fairly loud boombox with random noise pouring forth. . . whispering to each other . . . might work.

Blasts Target Iraq's Kurdish Parties

Local Leaders Among at Least 56 Killed in Suicide Attacks at Political Offices

By Daniel Williams
Washington Post Foreign Service
Monday, February 2, 2004; Page A01

IRBIL, Iraq, Feb. 1 -- In nearly simultaneous strikes Sunday, a pair of suicide bombers set off explosives during Muslim holiday celebrations inside two buildings housing offices of the main Kurdish parties in northern Iraq, killing at least 56 people and wounding more than 200.

The blasts killed senior members of the two parties, the Kurdistan Democratic Party and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, which are among the best-organized and most staunch U.S. allies in Iraq. Both groups supported the invasion that toppled President Saddam Hussein and put their large militias at the service of U.S. commanders. [SNIP]

mercy is its name

Sorry to beat a dead horse, but I thought you might like to see what our friend mercy sees as more important news than this thread:

Toiletbowl XXXVIII

Well I'm shocked. Shocked I tell ya. To find suddenly after all these years that what I thought just might be the most fantastic rack amoungst the entire panoply of showgirls .... was simply the result of an extreme pushup bra. What a rip off. I'm tellin ya that hooter was just average. Pedestrian even.

Just damn.

Front page stuff, baby.

Latest Update on BASF guard

Feb. 1, 2004, 11:03PM

Plant security guard surrenders to police
Man accused of threatening woman
Copyright 2004 Houston Chronicle

The security guard shot at a Freeport chemical plant last month surrendered to police after being charged with two misdemeanors in an unrelated incident.

Robert Murray House of Angleton surrendered to Lake Jackson police Saturday after learning he was wanted on charges of making a terroristic threat and interference with an emergency telephone call, said Sgt. Gary Kendrick.

The charges stem from a Jan. 17 altercation with a woman, Kendrick said. House is accused of interrupting the woman's 911 call and threatening her.

House, 43, was unarmed and working security outside BASF's chemical plant Jan. 23 when he was shot in the shoulder.

He said the gunman -- whom he described as having dark hair, a mustache and a thick foreign accent -- was taking pictures of lights at the plant. The FBI and local police have not found the gunman and have said the incident is not related to terrorism.

Mercy me! LOL

I found an excellent article explaining very simply and clearly why America faces a serious terrorism threat. It was written by an editorial contributor for the Wall Street Journal in response to a Washington Post article. The writer of the Post article claimed that threats of terrorism were exaggerated, or unlikely. A good place to refer the pundits and naysayers:

Note that this article was written before 9/11.

Weapons of mass destruction are smaller and more effective than ever. Will our leaders face up to the threat?"

So now that the Superbowl has come and gone, how do you feel about EOM's threat? It sounded like it was to happen during the night at some point and now we have about 48 hours left.
Did anyone ever catch the posts he made hinting that "last night" would truly be our last? Those weren't as ominous as this one, but it still hinted that the day he posted it was to be the start. Maybe EOM knows something is going on, because he probably has access to information we can't read or access. He can just piece it all together and make a nice little story about it. I had a thought that maybe if he really was the one to post that message on 9/10, he had the basic knowledge that something was going to happen, and got lucky that the attack actually happened the next day. If it had happened on 9/15, I'm sure he'd continue posting much in the same way he does now until the operation happened. That's also what I think the countdown clock may be. I'm sure after 9/11, all the wannabe militants got excited and started spreading hate and propaganda. They learned how to get around on the 'net and do the things EOM, Daleel and countless others are. It kinda seems to me like the posts are inconsistent, as well. Earlier posts pointed to nuclear or radiological devices, and this latest hints at bio or chemical. I doubt I'll believe EOM even if anything happens in the next few days or even months. I seriously doubt AQ would ever allow what EOM has posted, even from low level goons or a loosely affiliated terror cell. It may have been partly their fault that we thwarted any attacks over the holidays.
