why should NYC conduct saturation vehicle searches at tunnels if the threats are to aircraft? raising the level triggers too many unrelated activities to take place, we can't have a system that activates everything, everywhere, all the time.

its got to be more selective, to be effective.

Political... perhaps initially to ensure that new batches of vaccines were prepared. Maybe it's kept online in case large scale measures have to be put into place. It's hard for the dems to argue against that.

A senior U.S. official said a decision was made to cancel the flight based on information from a credible source, which was corroborated by other intelligence.

The official said someone from the Department of Homeland Security consulted with the airline. The official said the United States does not know how the terrorists would attack the planes, but "we know they're targeting these flights."

He also said there also is word about another threat that could ground British Airways 223, but no action is planned until there is more information.

British Airways Flight 223 was canceled twice in January based on previous intelligence from an informant and other sources.

The latest developments came as U.S. officials, citing credible electronic intercepts, say al Qaeda may again be targeting international flights into the United States.

A senior administration official said the intelligence gives precise threat information, including airlines, dates and flight numbers.

The intelligence mentioned Air France and British Airways flights to the United States, as well as British Airways Flight 223 specifically.

That's odd, can't get the link to work. It's interesting to note the many bio alerts, talks, etc., today. Could be we won't see something go boom at the SuperBowl. Could be a silent killer. All those 70 plus thousands of people came from somewhere, and will be returning. Ya know, I'd rather have that, at least they'd come home. We can help them get well.

This means by the time we figure it out, it will be to late. OK, so is this pointing to biological/chemical attack? I know they are monitoring the air quality during the SuperBowl, would it be to late once the HLS detects an airborne agent?

Or could they be talking about a hijacked flight? ...By the time NORAD figures out what is going on it will be to late.

I live in NC, also. I have been checking this thread daily. As you have stated, many people are not aware of the terrorist threats that we are facing. Since we live in NC, may people do not think that it could happen here. But, I do not think that we should be that naive. It can happen anywhere!

I am very grateful for the freepers who put in long hours to research the many threats that emerge. I come here for the "latest news".

Everyone needs to pray fervently. The latest EOM message really bothers me. Hopefully, it is just wishful thinking. However, when that message is coupled with the latest flight cancellations, I am having a bad feeling.

I can't figure out the "until it is too late" angle. It doesn't gel with the threat about "the whole world will see your destruction" stuff.

One is silent..the other implies massive fireworks.

Of course, it could be a dual-pronged attack.

I don't want to sound blase, but several years ago, there were unidentifiable green "blobs" all over the Detroit River, at various depths. These were decided to be the result of different chemicals mixing together and staying dormant for a while and then the temperature was just right, etc...

At one time, Lake Erie spontaneously combusted because of chemicals being dumped. That marked the beginning of the cleanup of Lake Erie and now I hear it is a virtual paradise.

Myself, I'm a Lake Michigan man.
