The Amerikkkans will not realize what has happened to them until it is to late.
This means by the time we figure it out, it will be to late. OK, so is this pointing to biological/chemical attack? I know they are monitoring the air quality during the SuperBowl, would it be to late once the HLS detects an airborne agent?
Or could they be talking about a hijacked flight? ...By the time NORAD figures out what is going on it will be to late.
Smallpox? ..That has surfaced again, right?
Anyone with other suggestions, no matter how silly you think they may be, please post!

I can't figure out the "until it is too late" angle. It doesn't gel with the threat about "the whole world will see your destruction" stuff.
One is silent..the other implies massive fireworks.
Of course, it could be a dual-pronged attack.
