I'm certainly not going to speak for SOL, but I suspect that he's not about to be intimidated by a couple of jihadist wanabees.

You're right about the Amish. We used to see them at the zoo in Ohio and we'd stare at them because they were so unusual. Then we drove to Indiana and saw the horse drawn carts and were totally amazed at that.

Dizney vacation - isn't that use and abuse after you accuse?

True connection of dots!
My husband said he also believes there will be an attack, he is the world's biggest skeptic. He said the difference between he and I , is that I sit and worry and don't know when to let go. We were sitting at a freight train stop and he said if a nuke hit just one block away what can you do? So then stop worrying ahead of time for if you can't stop it why waste whatever time you do have left knowing about it and being defenseless. Just some thoughts shared.
He doesn't make sense often but this is one of the rare moments -g-

My SO said that, Superbowl is going to have all the security forces there and they now have concrete blocks up to prevent suicide bombers, but that will make security lessened in other areas

"I just want to know if they are installing water fountains in the deserts yet. Are they? I swear, we really ARE that stupid of a country."
I haven't seen water fountains, but during a trip on the El Camino del Diablo, in October, we saw some interesting things. In an old ranch house, that is owned by the park service, we saw two brand new air conditioners, in the box. The house was being worked on by someone. Also, we found an old refrigerator filled with jugs of water. We didn't think the work was restoration. It was more like setting-up a safe house. A border patrolman came upon us several miles from there. We asked him what was going on and he said he didn't know and didn't seem to care very much.

Wow...I hope that you can recover that money and that they can track the theft to the person who did it.

Hi JP,
Your husband does have a point. There is no sense in worrying oneself to death about something that may or may not happen.
OTOH, it's foolish to know of a threat and not take any action to minimize the consequences of the threat.
I've prepared myself and I'm living my life as I always have. I just have supplies on hand so I'll be able to deal with an attack IF one happens in my area.
Some say I've my tinfoil wrapped too tight, others are telling me to add another layer.
While we can't sit around and agonize over the threats, we must be aware of them and prepare for any eventuality. Not to do so is foolhardy IMHO.
I monitor this thread because I hear reports here Id hear nowhere else. For that I must thank all the Freepers that have been contributing to this thread. You are all doing a FANTASTIC JOB!
Some of my friends have seen my supplies and have asked if I know something that they dont. My answer is always YES. Again, thank you Freepers!
