"this island"
Manhattan? Or since 2 boroughs of NYC are on LI that might be the reference too.

Wow...nice index in 1346!!! That definitely will come in handy.

IF they attack, I would expect more than one city to be targeted simultaneously. The Super Bowl will have a huge world-wide audience... all eyes will be watching live.

In regards to the same pic, the Sun/moon/suitcase nuke pic, a couple things don't seem right. If that's supposed to be a pic of the moon, it doesn't correspond to any image of the moon I can find. The features don't match.
If it's to represent the phase of the moon, then it represents the last quarter moon, which doesn't occur until the 13th of Feb. First quarter is tomorrow, Jan. 29.
The "moon" image appears to be overlain with a faint image of an American flag or something with red stripes and a blue square. Or is my imagination taking over on that score?
Could the greyscale at the top of the image be a key to info contained in the image? The pixels of the moon pic appear to be altered in a regular crosshatch pattern. Even if it the greyscale is a key, I would have no idea how to work it. I'm sure you all have thought of this last point.

As I understood it, we couldn't really nuke countries in retaliation against acts of terror, because they weren't really connected to them. Do we know if al-Qaeda is working with Iran? I don't really know if we'd go berserk exactly. I'd see threats first. Demanding countries to give up terrorists or face the consequences. But either way, if Russia and China are behind everything, it wouldn't exactly matter.

ok, I'll give you that one, but what would they really see? if a nuke goes off in houston, the TV feed from the game will go black in a flash and they will cut to Dan Rather.

Oh, I think they've stated clear intentions of destroying NYC. DC? Guess so, with a 'decapitation' attempt, seems to be what they've said about that. Landmarks, soft targets, etc., really to many to count. Amazing we have to deal with all of their threats.
I'm concerned about the SuperBowl, this year, for the first time. SOmething just doesn't seem right and doesn't read right. If they do manage to blow up a chemical plant in that area, it will be a huge mess. Security can work for you and against you, in certain situations. I just know I would not want to be in that stadium, this year. Hate it that I have friends who will be there.

IMHO, the picture you refer to as the moon gives me the impression of a view from outer space of a global conflict gone mad.

Nope. It's a reference to Saudi Arabia. They refer to Saudi Arabia as the Arabian Island all the time. The first time I saw it it was confusing. But look at the maps they draw of Saudi Arabia. It's isolated like an Island.
The Arabic word for island is "al-jazeera" and the Arabic words for "peninsula" is "shba al-jazeera". In actual usage, most of the time al-jazeera is used for island or peninsula.
I suppose for clarity's sake I should start translating it as Arabian Peninsula.

pakistan and iran for sure. both have active nuclear programs, both have strong AQ links, both should be hit instantly if something like that happens (just their nuclear and military installations). and we should have informed their governments of this already.

Remember one of Bin Laden's major complaints is that he feels hallowed ground has been desecrated by the Saudi's allowing American troops there. The attack on the Al Khobar towers was an attempt to drive the US out.

Maybe we should have an "end of the world as we know it now" toga party?
I have been known to use any excuse for a party...
To: Letitring
OK, that's more reasonable.
how close are the nearest large chemical installations to the stadium? that is a very good question.

>> informed their governments of this already <<
I've thought the same. Let everyone know that if a nuke goes off anywhere inside the U.S., these installations / places will cease to exists within 60 minutes.
