I don't know. I DO know a lot of wealthy, successful people, who aren't nasty itches on wheels.OTOH, I also know some nasty, " snobby ", itches on wheels wealthy people. LOL

Oh, dear. Well, I don't really expect much from very rich people. The world seems to be structured in a way that helps them hang on to their riches. Given that I wish I were rich, myself, I don't begrudge this.

On the other hand, I don't pretend to myself that their intentions are selfless, either.

I've read those 2 books and they're real eye openers about a self-centered, compulsive, and manipulative woman.

There are good and bad in ALL social strata. You should EXPECT much from everyone; unfortunately, that is not what you'll find, no matter what social class.

People are just people, whether they have a lot, a little, or a medium amount of money. Never forgot that. :-)

We'd never be picked as jurors after they learned we'd read the books! Besides, I'm not yuppie or elitest enough for her to deign to acknowledge my existence. (But I'm a very good cook!)

It's only through my beloved mother, that I knows Mrs. Guest. I am too young to have traveled in that circle and too old, to have been in her daughter's circle. LOL Her estate is just indcredible! The luncheon was nice; not too little, not too much, and a lot of fun. A little while ago, I ran across the notes I took that day, when looking for something else entirely.

OTOH, I know a very great deal about Martha; none of it very nice! :-)

One is presumed to be innocent, until proven guilty in a court of law ONLY ! The "court of public opinion" is NEVER held to that rule.

you knew I saw that didn't you?

you know who supplies my leisure mag reading...lol

I am an expert at Vogue, Bazaar, T&C, W and Elle and even Allure....egads....one must keep up!

I like shopping for her, I confess. It used to be fun for the girls too but when they outgrew Laura Ashley and Strausberg, I gave up.

I guessed. LOL

Sheeeeeeeeeeeeesh,YOU read more women's magazines than I do.

And a VERY good shopper you are too !

My kiddo wore Laura Ashely and Strausberg well into college. But, your kiddos don't go to boarding school. Laura Ashely hasn't been the same since she died and her son took over, and I'm now so removed from teen wearing apparel, I can't help you much there. Now, in regards to your lovely wife.................LOL, but you don't want my suggestions, I know, know. :-)

Whatever stock trading crimes Martha is really guilty of....there are at least 500,000 other Americans who are just as guilty, if not more. Hillery had her little options profit...which she made tons of money off of....yet never went back again...hmmmm, sounds like insider trading to me. You can go across every major company, and there are people who get whispered statements...and buy stock to watch it increase over a 30 day period by 10 percent, and then sell. And what of these people? Nothing. Give Martha 30 days of duty at some folks home in Oklahoma and a fine of $20k and go back to watching NCAA basketball. 99 percent of America could care less what happens to Martha.

She likes what you like rest assured.

She's now on a Dolce Gabbana and Louis Vuitton kick....I'm like dream on honey....not on our budget. We'll wait for somebody lower down the pecking order to do some knockoffs.

Hmmmmmmmmmm ... Dolce and Gabbana is expensive, tacky, trash.

Most of Louis Vitton has been utter garbage since the early '70s and just trendy junk.

You need to tell her about the latest " IN " jelly Kelly bags, which you can well afford. LOL
