Republican Howard Kaloogian's campaign for Senate is coming to a hot talk-radio show near you.
The former San Diego-area assemblyman, who used the Internet and conservative talk shows to boost the successful recall effort against former Democratic Gov. Gray Davis, is hoping to tap those same sources in his bid to challenge Democrat Barbara Boxer for the U.S. Senate seat she has held for the past 12 years.

This guy has more political savvy than Karl Rove!
I would have liked to be there, but I had a prior commitment to go to Sacramento for the pro-life rally.
RINO's should take note.
Don't doubt it. On Rove's orders, people from DC have interefered in so many aspects of the California GOP that it doesn't resemble the activist/volunteer body it once was.
On a separate note, besides appreciating the work of those pro-life volunteers, I liked the music I heard too!

Clinton donor Toni Casey on GOP platform committee She fought to strip pro-life plank from Republican document By John Gizzi
PHILADELPHIA (Human Events) -- Even though candidate George W. Bush had prominently stated his desire to keep the pro-life plank intact in the 2000 Republican National Platform, a small but vocal minority on the platform committee fought to remove or at least alter it. They were led by a Clinton-Gore contributor who slipped into the delegation and onto the platform committee, with the apparent backing of the California branch of the Bush campaign.
The 15-member subcommittee dealing with the abortion issue defeated an amendment to delete the plank by a 10-3 vote. Interestingly, one of the two members not voting on the amendment was Christian Coalition Executive Vice President Roberta Combs, a delegate from South Carolina. Combs later said that illness forced her to miss the crucial vote. A so-called tolerance clause was actually approved, but only briefly, toward the end of a long session. Several delegates later said they were confused about what they were voting on and asked to change their vote. It was then defeated.
The committee's most outspoken proponent of the "tolerance clause" that would have watered down the pro-life plank was Toni Casey, a public relations consultant from Los Altos, Calif. According to Federal Election Commission reports distributed to platform committee members by the conservative National Federation of Republican Assemblies, Casey made the maximum legal contribution of $1,000 to the 1996 Clinton-Gore Primary Committee. In 1988, she gave $500 to the Dukakis for President Committee. For the past seven years, she has been a regular donor to the EMILY's List political action committee, which promotes pro-choice women for office. She has also contributed to Democratic U.S. Reps. Zoe Lofgren and Anna Eshoo of California and to Sen. Chuck Robb, D-Va. -- all of whom opposed a ban on partial-birth abortion.

Despite the presence on the "Renewing Family and Community" subcommittee of a vocal abortion proponent from California, Toni Casey, a Democrat just four months ago, who offered amendments to weaken the pro-life language, the votes were overwhelmingly pro-life. The pro-abortion side was defeated on votes of 10-3 and 11-3 in subcommittee, and they were soundly defeated by voice votes in the full Platform committee, receiving only about 6 votes out of 107.

It was Mr. Stone and Toni Casey who held Bill Clinton's first reception in Silicon Valley back in 1990, when Mr. Clinton was governor of Arkansas and headed the Democratic Leadership Council, the organization Mr. Clinton used to move the party toward the political center. They also helped Mr. Clinton line up the crucial support of high-tech executives in his 1992 presidential run.

From The Daily News Editorial
Outspoken Mayor Toni Casey is leaving office after 12 tumultuous years, and not a minute too soon for most residents. Although LAH residents like their big houses, Casey and her cronies have gone too far in allowing excessive growth. Her policies have begun to threaten open space and the town's off-road pathway system. Her dreams for an outrageously large Town Hall and for selling town-owned property are wildly unpopular. Fortunately, Los Altos Hills has two excellent Town Council candidates, Breene Kerr and Dean Warshawsky, who can repair the damage of the Casey era.

Pajama Party Politics
A decade ago, Los Altos Hills Councilwoman Toni Casey was an early backer of then-Arkansas Gov. Bill Clinton. In fact, she co-hosted a Democratic Leadership Council event featuring Clinton in 1990, a year before Slick Willie allegedly asked Paula Jones to "kiss it." For all his faults, Clinton can't be accused of forgetting his buddies. Bill kindly invited Casey--along with seven other old friends including Santa Clara County Assessor Larry Stone and his wife, Carmen--to spend a night at the White House a few days before Christmas. ... Of course, a lot of things have changed since Casey co-hosted that 1990 Clinton event--like her party registration. Casey's now a Republican. And not just a low-profile one. She served as a delegate at the party's national convention earlier this year, assuming a sound-byte-friendly role challenging the GOP's anti-abortion platform. Oh, and she was an enthusiastic, oft-quoted backer of George W. Bush. But Casey says her conversion didn't cause any discomfort between herself and the Clintons. "The nature of the visit was not political at all," snaps Casey, who knows Clinton assistant Betty Currie on a first-name basis. ... Stone, meanwhile, recalls that during a post-midnight conversation, Clinton didn't let Casey's politics stop him from criticizing the Supreme Court decision that gave Dubya the presidency. "From the way he [Clinton] talked," Stone says, "I didn't think he knew Toni was a Republican."

In a letter to the Mercury News, Los Altos Hills resident Nancy Kelem blamed outgoing council member Toni Casey and her council allies for the loss of the ``historic treasure.' ``It's a direct result of the cynical building strategy that she has fostered: Don't bother getting permission -- even to demolish a historic building -- because it's easy to gain forgiveness from her city council,'' Kelem wrote.
