Here we go again...
BERLIN, Jan. 22 (UPI) -- Al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden has been captured, Germany's Die Welt newspaper reported Thursday.
The newspaper, on its Web site, cited "unconfirmed reports" as the basis for its report.
Bin Laden is the Saudi dissident blamed for the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks on New York and Washington that killed nearly 3,000 people. He was believed to be hiding along the Afghan-Pakistan border.

There is no other person on earth that would be happier if such a dream would come true, however, reality checks here! There are billions of Moslems who are not all fanatics or militants. It would be very unfair to simply wipe out all the bad, and the not so bad. You noticed that I could not even get myself to say the good, because I do not think among one billion people there is even one that can be called good, unless that one (or many) is or are not practicing the REAL teaching of Islam.

If the US had invaded Iran or Saudi Arabia first instead of messing around with secular Iraq, we would have been so far ahead of the game with the Moslem terrorists. Bush chose to call it "The War on Terror"! I would like to correct him, respectfully, Mr. President, it is "The War on MOSLEM Terrorists". As a matter of fact, I would have taken this one further step, by aligning the secular Moslem dictators; Saddam of Iraq, Assad of Syria, Mubarak of Egypt, Abdullah of Jordon to fight against Iran, and Saudi Arabia. We managed to do that in the last gulf war. Once you have Moslems on your side the attacks on Iran, and Saudi Arabia would not be considered CRUSADERS invasion.

Thanks. I see the rest of the guys kind of piled in on you. I have been thinking about this. Imagine it from the locals point of view. That US Army sitting in Iraq is the most powerful force to enter the area since Alexander the Great. It has armoured columns that can literally go anywhere, anytime. No mid east capital is beyond invasion and occupation, in a very short time.
The dimwits over there know this. If they ever had an army like that, they would use it. They know the US will use it if provoked. They might want to make some noise but they won't be pulling the tiger's tail.
Giving sanctuary to OBL is simply not worth the price.

When President Bush appears on TV and makes this announcement, then I'll believe it. Until then, it's pure speculation made to possibly allow us to let our guard down.
Plus, I don't trust the Germans and I want pictures.

My only disagreement with your post is I think Bin Laden is so radioactive no one would hold him and not tell us.
Say we found out he is in a middle east country....how long would it be before we mounted a raid to get him....not very long.
I think it would be a regime's suicide to hide him from us.

*cough*
UNTIL I see it reported on a reliable news network, or hear it on the radio from a reliable news source, I am not believing it.

There has already been official denial. Of course, we know that they're holding him with the intention of trotting him out just before the November election. < /sarcasm >

Uhh, I think you misread my post. That was essentially my point.
To: Dog Gone
I'll believe it when President Bush or Donald Rumsfeld confirm it, and probably not before then. I'll believe it when it's reported by either The World Tribune, Debka, Newsmax, or WND.
