On the campaign trail, White House wannabe Sen. John Forbes Kerry regularly mentions his Vietnam War combat experience, during which he received three purple hearts, the Silver Star and Bronze Star. However, the Massachusetts Democrat doesn't like to talk much about how he received the awards or the time after he returned home when he was rubbing shoulders with Hanoi Jane Fonda as a much-celebrated organizer for one of America's most radical pro-communist groups. Web page has a lot of photos including Kerry being arrested at a protest and Kerry in front of North Vietnam (or VC) flag. Not sure if that is real or photoshopped.

He was aligned with Jane Fonda,Ramsey Clark and took over the Vets against the war.He accused the military of horrible atrocities and the soldiers of being baby killers at a congressional hearing.I doubt the picture is photoshopped.

The media was proclaiming that it was his Viet Nam experience that made the voters in Iowa choose him.
This is a sickening evaluation but we can see that the media has annointed him.
Brokaw went after Clark yesterday.....which would never in a million years happen if they hadn't decided that Kerry's the one.

I was in Vietnam the same time as Kerry. I remember all his antics after he got back to the states in which he disgraced his former uniform and lied about what his fellow servicemen did in Vietnam. This guy likes to feature his "combat record", but the real truth is in this new Web site. Glad to see that it is finally coming out.

Kerry served in Vietnam. He saw what that war did to American troops. Had Bush served, instead of going AWOL, American troops probably wouldn't be dying in Iraq right now. I find it interesting that all right wingers ignore the fact that Bush lied about WMDs as being the reason to go to war with Iraq! Clinton has an affair with an intern and all of you want to string him up from the highest pole, but Bush lies to the entire world community, attacks Iraq, sends thousands of American troops into battle, kills thousands of Iraqi civilians and nobody cares! Maybe of republics weren't so frigid, they'd get laid more often, thus releasing some of that sexual frustration that causes you to lie and kill for no reason!

My guess is that is not a real picture--I think we'd have seen it before if it were.
Kerry's politics are typical leftist nonsense, but I certainly wouldn't want to criticize him over Vietnam. He was there, in combat, risking his life for our country. The former Green Beret who went to Iowa to thank him for saving his life in Vietnam seemed genuine to me.

I've always wondered what would happen if Kerry became President and then found himself in the position of having to wage a war. Would he still protest it?

Here's one Vietnam veteran who will take Bush over Kerry anyday -- and I have lots of friends who feel the same.

Take your armchair Freudian analysis and pathetic political rants back to DU, Morford.
To: BillF
"Kerry was a supporter of the "People's Peace Treaty," a supposed "people's" declaration to end the war, reportedly drawn up in communist East Germany.
It included nine points, all of which were taken from Viet Cong peace proposals at the Paris peace talks as conditions for ending the war.
One of the provisions stated: "The Vietnamese pledge that as soon as the U.S. government publicly sets a date for total withdrawal [from Vietnam], they will enter discussion to secure the release of all American prisoners, including pilots captured while bombing North Vietnam."
In other words, Kerry and his VVAW advocated the communist line to withdraw all U.S. troops from Vietnam first and then negotiate with Hanoi over the release of prisoners. Had the nine points of the "People's Peace Treaty" favored by Kerry been accepted by American negotiators, the United States would have totally lost all leverage to get the communists to release any POWs captured during the war years."
This man is dangerous...and a liar. I think he is more of a foe than any of the others. Please go to the web site
http://www.usvetdsp.com/jf_kerry.htm and read for yourself what a threat this man is.

Kerry's anti-American activities are more significant than his service in Vietnam, which he obviously devalued by his subsequent actions, statements, and highly questionable leftist associations.Glad your nonsense was allowed to be posted. I hope it won't be removed as are all conservative comments on Dem Underground.

I would not vote for Kerry over Bush but Three Purple Hearts is rather admirable.

Those DNC Talking Points are a little shopworn- you need some new ones.

I think it is safe to say that he used the suffering of others for political gain, just like he may be using the suffering of others for political gain now.
