Hillary Scowls, Teddy Growls as Bush Touts Iraq Victory

New York Sen. Hillary Clinton could barely contain her disdain Tuesday night as President Bush used his State of the Union address to trumpet U.S. victory in Iraq.

Noting that "some in this chamber and in our country did not support the liberation of Iraq," Bush reminded, "Had we failed to act, Iraq's torture chambers would still be filled with victims, terrified and innocent.

"The killing fields of Iraq, where hundreds of thousands of men, women and children had vanished into the sands, would be known only to the killers," said Bush.

He then proclaimed, "For all who love freedom and peace, a world without Saddam Hussein is a better and safer place."

The line had members of both parties scurrying to their feet to applaud the national achievement, but cameras caught a bored-looking Sen. Clinton scowling at the floor as she reluctantly clapped her hands.

A few moments earlier, Bush got Teddy Kennedy's goat by noting:

"Already the Kay report identified dozens of weapons of mass destruction related program activities and significant amounts of equipment that Iraq concealed from the United Nations.

"Had we failed to act, the dictator's weapons of mass destruction programs would continue to this day."

As Bush spoke those words, cameras trained on Kennedy showed him shaking his head in abject disgust.

As we watched, someone commented they thought EK had some type of neurological disorder due to his head shaking. I insisted it is not a neuro disorder is it pure HATE. EK and HRC's HATE for President Bush EXCEEDS their hope, concern and love for Americans and America, plus the Freedom of the Iraqi People.

It sure looks like "Commie Tommy" is sitting on something. If you compare the two chairs in the picture, you see that they are identical chairs. Little Tom looks like he has something between him and the chair if you look closely.

Teddy was beet red - looked like he'd already gotten into the liquor cabinet.

What a bunch. They can just go kerry themselves as far as I'm concerned.

We watched the State of the Union address, and seeing Clinton and Kennedy was the highlight of the evening.

The other thing that was funny, was on FOX, Brit Hume was making comments during the speech, and you could here him a couple of times. He didn't know his mike was live.

Just after I commented that the Democrats were having a hard time even being civil, I could here Brit Hume say something about the applause being split down party lines.

Did anyone catch when the camera panned to Hilary and she was sitting there with a scowl on her face clapping as if it hurt, and then suddenly noticed the camera - and put on this big grin and gave him thunderous applause, and after she saw the camera move away she went back to her scowl and then it suddenly panned back and she went back into a grin again. She acted as if she had an on and off button attached to the camera lens. It was almost as good as Clinton's funeral scene.

Then Kennedy - looking as if he had been told by his mother that he better behave himself or else - began to move his hand back and forth over the fat on his jowels as if he was having to hit himself to make himself behave.

I loved it - that my friends was better than going to a professional wrestling match.

I'm getting the impression that Bush is finally realizing that Teddy Kennedy is not his friend.

6/32 Armor, part of the 4th Infantry Division. I don't think it exists any more. Perhaps you know? And you?

Then WHAM...he slammed them several times in his way, and I think she was TICKED OFF. Ooooooooh...I'll bet Dubya is scared.

I was with 2/34 Armor. Sorry to bear the news, but 6/32 was deactivated. 2/34 was transferred to the 1st I.D., where it participated in Gulf War I. Have some good memories of "going downrange" at Carson.

Nancy "stretch" Pelosi - "One more facelift, and I'll have a goatee"

That's my favorite Joan Rivers joke. I'm suprised no one else has caught it. It's right on!

Rush was talking about these people today. He said that their "rebuttal" was made earlier in the day (he seemed to indicate he knew it was daylight out when they made their comments, instead of waiting until after Bush's speech.

Also .. Rush really ripped Pelosi for saying "the President's go-it-alone policy" in lieu of Bush stating last night all the countries who are helping us in Iraq.

I wonder if Bush purposely left that portion out of his speech ..??

Also .. Rush really ripped Pelosi for saying "the President's go-it-alone policy" after Bush had read off all the countries who are helping us in Iraq. And .. I loved how Bush opened the statement by saying "some here have said that we need to internationalize the war .. and then he said something about that upsetting all those who were helping us .. and he began reading off all the names of the countries .. and the more he read the louder the GOP got .. it was an awesome moment.

I wonder if Bush purposely left that portion out of his speech ..??

Since I watched the speech on CSPAN, I really didn't see all of the reactions from the dems reported. It was obvious many times that the President was answering many of their lies in his speech, and that the dems were not even gracious enough to clap at things they themselves supported!!!

I think you're right about Hillary. The pundits (gag) had been saying that President Bush HAD to be conciliatory and she was expecting that. Then she got her hubby's administration publicly spanked. Hah.
