Nancy Pelosi and Tom Dashle are responding. Pelosi is reading verbatim from her script. Looks like a teleprompter. She lost her place and looked foolish.

"All I could think of while Nancy P. spoke about how we as a country need to "work together" with other countries was this: I doubt if France or any other country being on our side would have made a bit of difference to the leader of Libya in his decision to stop making WMD. Libya made that decision because of the USA's president and our leadership. It didn't really matter what France or others did. So, Nancy is wrong. Being strong, even when we must be strong along, or only with the UK, is more important than being "popular" with other countries. Other countries did not make an impression on Libya. But the USA and GW did."
Reminds one of when Iran released the Embassy captives - the day after Carter was out of office, i.e., the first day of President Ronald Reagan's two terms.

Kat is a variant of cat, it's spelled wrong though. Actually, kat, an arabian shrub, is a variant of khat. And it is spelled correctly.

Inaugural Address
President John F. Kennedy
Washington, D.C.
January 20, 1961
[snip....]
"In the long history of the world, only a few generations have been granted the role of defending freedom in its hour of maximum danger. I do not shrink from this responsibility--I welcome it. I do not believe that any of us would exchange places with any other people or any other generation. The energy, the faith, the devotion which we bring to this endeavor will light our country and all who serve it--and the glow from that fire can truly light the world.
And so, my fellow Americans: ask not what your country can do for you--ask what you can do for your country.
My fellow citizens of the world: ask not what America will do for you, but what together we can do for the freedom of man.
Finally, whether you are citizens of America or citizens of the world, ask of us here the same high standards of strength and sacrifice which we ask of you. With a good conscience our only sure reward, with history the final judge of our deeds, let us go forth to lead the land we love, asking His blessing and His help, but knowing that here on earth God's work must truly be our own."
........
Now for history according to Nancy Pelosi:
"My fellow citizens of the world: ask not what America will do for you, but what together we can do for the freedom of man."

Breaux says tax cuts have "no chance" of becoming permanent. TurdI'd say that all depends on how many Democrat Senators are replaced by conservative Republicans in November!

Netmilsmom! Thanx for the VK ping. I just got on this thread.
It was so hilarious to see Tiny Tommy. He was trying to read his speach -- yes, read -- like Bush. With the soooooft voice, and the geeeentle head gestures, and the paaauuuuses. He ain't even close to Bush.
I liked how Bush said, "meet my veto". Kakate Koi! (Remember that? I want THAT in a manga!)

"Okay, am I the only one who laughed when he called her "Leader Pelosi?" Sounded so silly. Now Tom is blaming Bush for cancer."
It's not silly, it's scary. In North Korea, a person risks death (no joke) if they do not refer to Kim Jong Il or Kim Il Sun as "dear leader."
