Well, over the last 35 years most Dems, not all, were just like Clinton. Tying the hands of the CIA, FBI and NSA and cutting their budgets. Gutting the military, making rules in Congress limiting our ability to gather intelligence, etc.

If it wasn't for Reagan, we wouldn't have the military we have now since they are using the systems he fought for like the Bradley Fighting Vehicle and the Apache helicopter, both programs the liberals wanted to end during testing because the test weren't always perfect. But that's why we test, change, adapt.

Now we have massive new ideas and abilities like simply strapping on a $350 GPS device to existing bombs that can now be more precise. And other ideas that came from the first Gulf War...many which barely survived under Clinton. At least he didn't totally gut the programs but he did kill off too many divisions and Naval vessels. Bush 41 did also, but not at that rate.

But even then, it comes down to it's usage and I'll never trust a Democrat to use our military might to defend us since they have a long record of not doing so after WWII. It was the Democratic politicians that screwed up Vietnam and didn't allow our military a victory that was easily at hand.

I disagree that Vietnam was any more winnable under a Republican.

I disagree that Gulf War 1 & 2 (and Afghanistan) were any more loseable under a Democrat.

"CIA, FBI and NSA "

35 years ago it wasn't the same. But all things are cyclical .
