What exactly is Rudy's record on gun control? During the time of his one elected position what changes did he make in the NYC gun laws?

Rudy Giuliani stated that he supports National Gun Registration - this is a FACT. He is on record as opposing the Second Amendment as an individual right. He supported the "assault rifle ban". As far as enacting NEW gun as Governor of New York City - that would be pretty difficult to do. Its extremely difficult for a law abiding citizen to get a gun permit in New Jersey, New York City, Massachusetts, Rhode Island. Now the goal of most of the politicians from those areas, along with the ones from Maryland and Kalifornia is to extend that cookiness to the rest of the nation.

"I do not think the government should cut off the right to bear arms. My position for many years has been that just as a motorist must have a license, a gun owner should be required to have one as well. Anyone wanting to own a gun should have to pass a written exam that shows that they know how to use a gun, that they’re intelligent enough and responsible enough to handle a gun. Should both handgun and rifle owners be licensed...we’re talking about all dangerous weapons. "
