You say that Rudy's track record on gun control is a clear indicator that he would be much stricter on the issue than Bush....

What exactly is Rudy's record on gun control? During the time of his one elected position what changes did he make in the NYC gun laws?

Do you know or are you giving misinfomed opinion as fact again?

Rudy Giuliani stated that he supports National Gun Registration - this is a FACT. He is on record as opposing the Second Amendment as an individual right. He supported the "assault rifle ban". As far as enacting NEW gun as Governor of New York City - that would be pretty difficult to do. Its extremely difficult for a law abiding citizen to get a gun permit in New Jersey, New York City, Massachusetts, Rhode Island. Now the goal of most of the politicians from those areas, along with the ones from Maryland and Kalifornia is to extend that cookiness to the rest of the nation.

"I do not think the government should cut off the right to bear arms. My position for many years has been that just as a motorist must have a license, a gun owner should be required to have one as well. Anyone wanting to own a gun should have to pass a written exam that shows that they know how to use a gun, that they’re intelligent enough and responsible enough to handle a gun. Should both handgun and rifle owners be licensed...we’re talking about all dangerous weapons. "

"If Mr. Abu Kamal would have tried to buy a gun in New York, he would not have been able to do so. Because in New York our gun control laws are much stricter and more responsible than in Florida.

"And thanks in part to our stricter gun control laws, crime is down dramatically in New York City. Shootings are down over 50 percent. Murder is down over 50 percent. But the fact is that 90 percent of the guns we take out of the hands of criminals in New York City come from out of the State of New York.

"We need a federal law that bans all assault weapons, and if in fact you do need a handgun you should be subjected to at least the same restrictions"

And before you go making goofy proclamations about Gay rights and abortion, take a look at this:

“I’m pro-choice. I’m pro-gay rights,” Giuliani said. He was then asked whether he supports a ban on what critics call partial-birth abortions. “No, I have not supported that, and I don’t see my position on that changing,” he responded.

"During the time of his one elected position what changes did he make in the NYC gun laws?"

He proposed that the City Council (I think that is the group) ban guns within 1000 feet of a school.

The City Council declined. (he tried).
