Many parents put their children in Catholic Schools when the public schools introduced Sex Education in the Public Schools in the 60's. Where are they going to send them now?

Seems like they have this backwards. One would think the Catholic Church would try to weed out the pedophile priests instead of teaching 5 year olds to resist them.

Mars?>>>

Might be the better place for them instead of getting their minds corrupted by a bunch of socialist liberals. They're getting to be almost as bad as the public schools.

First of all the problem with priests is at the same percentage of any other group of people, 2%. Most of the priests charged are homosexuals who preyed on adolescent boys not pre pubescent boys and not girls. Most of the teachers in Catholic Schools are lay women and nuns and not priests, priests have very little interaction with school kids during school hours.

Parents send their children to Catholic School for religion, morals, discipline and values and are capable of teaching their own children on what is good and bad touch when the "parents" think it's time, rather than some socialist deviants. So they don't have it backwards and are ahead of the curve and know better than to have those sick pictures shown to 5 yr. olds.

I didn't mean to imply that I thought all priests were pedophiles. I understand there are many good priests (and the Catholic Church) who have had their reputation dragged through the mud over this.

However, there is not a STRONG church policy or monitoring program of priests. I remember one pastor telling me that he will not meet with anyone one-on-one. There must be someone in the room to monitor the session to preclude any impropriety. This is protection for him as well as for the other person. The weak action by church leaders on known (or suspected) pedophile priests makes this program sound like it’s backwards to me.

You obviously must be in favor of telling 5 year olds about “inappropriate touching” by priests. I think that’s a sorry state of affair for the church. Apparently, from the article, I’m not alone.

For many of the Pederasts it is not their peepee that they are interested in but you’re close.

YOU WROTE!!!
"First of all the problem with priests is at the same percentage of any other group of people, 2%."

The other groups don't claim to be "holy" or these childrens window to God. The rest of the excuses you gave are sickening and speak for themselves.

It is like the Democratic party loyals who are watching the party self destruct and defending any deviancy so long as the party is unified.
Religion's one and the same are defended by the faithful no matter what the deviancy.

The very source of the problem was accepting to the seminaries and ordaining to the priesthood men of very peculiar sexual appetites and unwilling to live in chastity. Instead of addressing the recruitment problems head-on, our American bishops created this huge, useless and costly smokescreen - they’d do anything, it seems, to protect the homosexuals.

I thank God for all the Catholic parents and priests who object to this nonsense.

Normal people don't show pictures of men grabbing crotches to those in Kindergarten, it's up to the "parents" to educate "their" children when "they" deem it necessary and not for the Social Workers, Socialists in the Public or Catholic School Systems to do it. If that's what you want for your kids, fine with me, just don't force your opinions and values on other children. There were an equal number of Protestant Ministers who were not celibate who abused roughly the same amount of children and the rate of Child abuse in the priesthood is 2% and will subsequently be lower in future yrs. since many of the bad repetitive priests were weeded out.

The truthfulness of the reports on Catholic pedophilia is comparable to the truthfulness of the media reports on Iraq being imminent threat to the U.S. of A. All abuses were decades old but were reported as breaking news.

I’m glad that all the dirt came out. And I know the REAL cause of the problems. No, it isn’t what the massmedia say, and what the American Bishops suggest. Thank you.
