This is an unmitigated disaster for the D-man. Raising money just got tougher. And, he is going to have to spend more of it if he is going to win the nomination. Then he won't have any left to go after Bush.

And Dean sucked up a lot of money that would normally have gone into other campaigns. Dean is sitting there on that pot of Dim primary money, obviously ready to rip up his opponents. Those campaign dollars can't be replaced by the Dims easily. And many of Dean's supporters will refuse to support another candidate.

I just went to the DeanForAmerica.com website. Those loons actually published the text of that crazy speech like it was a valedictory. Who knows? Maybe they'll raise another few million off that.

This bit, from Dean's blogforamerica.com website, on his NH arrival this morning is even more priceless:
Dean Arrives in New Hampshire!

It was something else to see the stunned look on the staff and press as they entered the hangar to be greeted by a sea of people waving inflatable bats-- and another thing altogether to hear the roar of appreciation when the Governor finally entered and took the stage.

hangar2.jpg

The feeling was euphoric. Off to one side a sign read "Welcome Home, Howard!" And the crowd chanted and stomped, interupting the Governor with shouts and inflatable-bat applause:

"It sure is good to be back in New Hampshire!"

(Roar of approval.)

"We went to Iowa as the frontrunner, it's true. But New Hampshire has a tradition of electing the underdog. And eight days from today, you're going to do just that."

(The blue signs go up and the bats go crazy.)

Pretty soon, Joan Jett will be singing Patsy Cline's 'Crazy' as the campaign theme song. I love that whole inflatable bat thing. These are some very crazy folks. Personally, I wish he'd issue real baseball bats. It would be much more festive.

With a campaign like this, who needs SNL skits?

Was that Howard Dean, or Randy "Macho Man" Savage?

Ha! Ha! My first impression was torn between Macho Man and Hulk Hogan. I almost expected him to throw in a rant about the "little Hulksters" or the "Hulk-a-maniacs". The "hoooah!" at the end just kills me!!!!

There's a scene in Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory where Willy Wonka is watching the little girl slowly blow up like a giant blueberry. Willy Wonka says, "The suspense is terrible.....I hope it lasts." That's how I felt watching this tirade last night. I kept thinking that any minute his head would explode.

DARN!, I wanted him to win. That would have been fun.

You're right about that. Running against Dean would have been like shooting fish in a barrel. Maybe we should start campaigning for him....

I did notice that he didn't mention Texas, either. I guess even Howard "Dr. Demento" Dean knows that you don't mess with Texas.

I'm listening to a caller go on about Edwards and how he will put a stop to the lobbyists

Hmmmm ... I don't think so

http://www.newyorkmetro.com/nymetro/news/politics/national/features/4741/index1.html

As the Senate Democrats' top recruiter, Bob Kerrey, acting on a scouting tip, persuaded Edwards to run for the Senate. The incumbent, Lauch Faircloth, was a 70-year-old hog farmer and Helms alter ego. Polls suggested he was beatable, and interest groups like the Sierra Club wanted him gone.

Have you heard this? My God, the guy's completely starkers. The "Yeaaah!" at the end sounds like he inadvertently got his scrotum caught in his zipper!

Well, if Dean ever needs a job announcing monster truck rally's - he's got it locked up.

LOL!!!

The only recourse this guy has is to say, "Gotcha! The whole thing was a preconceived attempt at pretending to be a quintessential, libbie, whacko, America and Bush-loathing politician to prove how mindless and sheep-like liberals are by creating a following of nuts to prove my point! I was ACTING! Really! Really, I was acting, it was all just a big joke. A big joke, I tell you! I'm telling you, it was A BIG JOKE!!! You don't believe me??? I'll prove it to you, I'll prove it to you I will!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Oop, well I guess that wouldn't work either...
