Things sure are getting crazier than Howard Dean w/o his meds.

third. The one thing he had to do in this speech was make sure his hard core supporters stayed on board, and that they knew he wasn't giving up. This required a "red meat" speech, and that's what he gave them.

I agree he was playing to his base ... but at the same time, he came off looking like a complete Nut Case

No joke. You can feed your base w/o looking like a total nut.

There was an entire thread devoted to you the other day - everyone speculated you were really Rush.

That started back in the Clinton impeachment era. I would post my views. Then the next day those same thoughts would show up on Rush's show.

For a while during my Radio Career I created humorous radio bits. For a while I was a regular on the top morning show in LA. Often I would get bits and ideas from smaller market shows far away from LA. I don't recall ever going to the host and telling him I got the ideas from some other smaller show. As I recall I wrote them, and the ones he liked were used on the air. After all a trusted member of the star's own 'staff' (me) had "created" them.

Rush has a staff who do show prep. They very likely read a lot of sources including Free Republic. When they find material that Rush can use, they are not likely to tell Rush who or where they got it from. He might offer some of us their jobs.

So they write it up as original material and Rush uses it. It happened a lot 1998 and 1999. Not much in 2004.

As I used to say to my self when listening to Rush, Comedians don't steal jokes... but joke writers do.

There is no reason for me to complain. They are not doing anything I have not done.

Yup, I seem to remeber you had him in an oversized suit as well. But there's a reason Senators seldom get elected to the Presidency and with LBJ as precedent, it's no wonder why.

Good night. Great threads; lots of laughs.

I'm with you, I think Dean was feeding his soldiers red meat. They were eating it up. I noticed afterward, Chris Mathews was highly critical of Dean's performance, everyone on his show was, but Mathews' first reactions are always wrong.

When Gov Bush said Jesus was his favorite philosopher, Mathews went ballistic, called it a major mistake, the American people would hate that, blah blah. Two days later Mathews had to acknowledge how wrong he was.

Besides giving a monster rally the troops performance, right before that, Dean was on FOX, and I'm guessing the other networks too, unbowed and unbent. He said all the right things, very composed, calm and collected with a "on to New Hampshire message.

The pukes and pundits are going to rip Dean a new one for his unpresidential performance, but i think that will fire his people up even more.

Glad you have a good sense of humor about it.

You write very well and I'm not surprised Rush has used your stuff. See you 'round the net.

What does Hillary have against JFK?

Against Kennedy, nothing that I know of. Against Kerry, her destiny.

Problem with that theory, though, is that the average American doesn't take kindly to jerks like Dean. On the other hand, most Americans respect people who believe in Jesus.

I must say, I am totally shocked at Gephardt's dismal performance, and am somewhat relieved, because I felt that Gephardt could have been a very strong challenger to Bush. But the Rats won't forgive him for standing up for what was right with regards to Iraq, and supporting the President.
