GOP PRIMARY PROTEST VOTE
e-mail from Citizens Lobby | 1/18/2004 | Unknown

Posted on 01/19/2004 6:17:00 AM PST by JimRed

If your state is holding a "primary" vote for the Republican candidate for president, Citizens Lobby strongly urges you to cast a "blank" ballot -- OR write in a candidate of your choice.

We recommend Tom Tancredo, Ron Paul, Pat Buchanan or Alan Keyes...

President Bush needs a wake call and your vote is a great way to send him a message.

I was just reading your post.

This:

I don't understand the desire to have no pie at all rather than a piece of pie.

is a great statement, friend.

I do. Being a former military man, I'm sure you understand the concept of the term "stealth."

Stuff yourself with Keyes votes, and an hour later you're hungry again.

I hope Dean implodes in six weeks, but it kind of looks like he's imploding now. Hopefully, he'll hang on to win. If he doesn't win, I think Republicans' best shot is with Clark. He's said some absolutely looney stuff, and has flip-flopped on numerous issues, and has no political experience. No one is really paying much attention to the Metrosexual General yet, but if the good Doctor goes down, I hope Clark stands up. Kerry would probably be the most formidable, simply because he's been a politician long enough, in a high enough profile, that he knows that it isn't a good idea to, say, yell at a 67 year old. Edwards probably does too, and he's got that "appeal" to women or something like that.

I can't believe that Ambassador Doctor Keyes still has followers. He's profited handsomely from their devotion.

I hope you aren't under the impression that that particular scenario would bother the Bush Haters on this forum.

You're right. It's not about 'sending the President a message'. It's about trying to destroy the man or at least get attention from the liberals so they can use it to create the perception that 'some in the GOP are not happy'. These malcontents are no different than Arianna Huffington or the 'republicans for choice' that pop up every election.

Here's a prediction for you: The winner of the 2004 Presidential Election will be either the DemocRat or the Republican candidate. I say that with near 100% absolute certainty.

Golly, thanks for your wisdom!! Protest voters really thought that they'd get a 3rd party win in 2004!!!! < /sarcasm >

The protest vote isn't about getting a 3rd party elected this election, it's about making a protest. That's why it's called a "protest" vote, see? Ever hear of a rather famous revolution that was started with a single shot "heard round the world"? I can just hear you two back in the day, "Hey, what good's one shot going to do? You're just wasting your lead (vote)."

I can guarantee you two something though. As long as people have your attitude, that we must choose only between 2 major parties, and that a vote anywhere else is just wasted, the dems and the pubs can do ANYTHING they want to us with impunity.

I'm curious. Is there any point at which either of you would finally vote 3rd party?

I'm just sorry the Dems don't have anyone to kick out of their debates like we did with Keyes in 2000. Now THAT was funny.

Is this ever a dumb idea! Yeah, vote against the first control of Congress in 40 years! Vote against tax cuts! Vote for partial birth abortion! Vote against the war on Iraq! Vote for more liberal judges! Vote for the war against Christians! Vote against honor in the WH! Vote for the Rats! Never!!!

Maybe I don't agree with everything he does, but I agree with 80% of it. Do I agree with the illegal free card legislation?? No, but I can't think of a better way to get the crops picked and stop ignoring a major issue. Perhaps these "Conservatives" think that losing is better than winning??? Like my President said, "Bring it on!"

Pray for W and Our Brave Troops

Are you purposely misunderstanding the thrust of this idea? Surely you're not that stupid.

A question that has kind of troubled me for some time - was Alan Keyes ever offered a post in the Bush Administration,

I will guess this "troubles" you because your position is Keyes ought to have been offered a position? Well, WHY, pray tell.

I say this as one who once upon a time admired Keyes, but he certainly exposed himself as thoughtless, childish, and a tad hateful, back in 2000. Hardly one who possesses qualities I'd like to see in a president's administration.

Hey, 91% you say..... lol....... It can't be based upon what you read on this forum and a few other lesser ones.

Oh well..... there are some 17 candidates filed or trying to file for the Republican Primary in at least one of the states plus the uncommitted column... I guess the remaining 9%ers can find a spot to mark in that group.... as if it mattered..... Heck we even have a Buchanan running again..... must be something in the gene pool.

There seems to be a lot of people here that hate Buchanan and Keyes.
...it makes one wonder how many true 'conservatives' actualy post here.

Are you contending that Pat Buchanan is a "true conservative"? LOL

There are plenty of true conservatives here, Bub.

Of course they do. The Democrats have Lyndon Larouche, we have Ambassador Doctor Keyes.

A really stupid suggestion. If you're not a Republican please stay out of our primary.
