"d. none of the above"

===

That is NOT one of the options. "none of the above" or "third party candidate" or "anyone but Bush" = voting for the Democrat.

That is the point. You will either get one of the Dem candidates as president or Bush. PERIOD.

I feel like I have the ability to do a 3rd party protest vote since even if I vote for Bush he won't take the state anyway.

Your right. I don't see Vermont going for Bush.

Look into the Constitution Party. They have a pretty good platform.

To avoid the abuses of the English law, treason was specifically defined in the United States Constitution. Article Three defines treason as only levying war against the United States or giving aid and comfort to its enemies, and requires the testimony of two witnesses to the same overt act or a confession in open court for conviction. In the United States Code the penalty ranges from "shall suffer death" to "shall be imprisoned not less than five years and fined under this title but not less than $10,000; and shall be incapable of holding any office under the United States."

Didn't save the link..boy, I know how that goes.

What I 'know' of percentages of those who get through is based on the gut feeling of the agents on the line. They have told me and/or acquaintances of mine that they catch anywhere from one in five to one in ten illegal crossers.

The number who got away has gone down during periods of intense scrutiny, such as Operation Ice last month. However, that has ended and there are more getting past the Border Patrol now.

As to your post 284, you prove my point, "giving aid and comfort to the enemy". And there has been not merely two witness's, but an entite nation full of witness's.

That would be up to a jury of his peers. What is does get him is a no vote from me and everyone else I know personally.

When many can no longer distinguish between the liberal socialist Democrats and the Republicans, I'm confident that more than a few are looking for alternatives. This election will probably be a wash between the two beltway parties, as both will be competing in a pandering contest, and open border, compassion fest.

"You all are just a bunch of malcontents with big mouths and small brains, IMO"

Gee, I used to think the most hateful antagonist I had as an independant thinking American citizen was the democratic socialist. If anything reading these posts have enlightened me to the depth of the split in our national identity.

I would say he has about a hundred questions he needs to answer regarding the push for illegal amnesty that the American people deserve an answer to. Then I would listen to his answers. Since the questions have not been asked or answered, I can't answer yours.

No because you know you have made an insane charge and are running from it like a scalded dog. You may want to chill the rhetoric. You can still be against Bush without sounding like a complete head case. Words mean things, choose them carefully if you want to be taken seriously.

I'm not running from a thing. We need to stop tap dancing around and begin to demand some answers and some accountability from politicians for flaunting the laws of the land. Bush, the Clintons, the Kennedys all need to be standing tall before the man and giving some fast and hard answers regarding their actions.

It's obvious that the time has passed when politicians should be allowed a free ride and a helpless shrug when they violate their oaths of office, and the constitution.
The times are too dangerous to ignore it any longer.

I think the law needs to be called upon to gain us the answers as to why these people have given and continue to give aid and comfort to an invading population, why they disregard and ignore the laws on the books, our sovereignty, disgrace their oath of office, degrade the constitution they swore loyalty to, and by the design of a perpetual amnesty for illegals, artificially up end the political balance of the USofA which will successfully destroy the possibility of the survival of any ideology other than socialism.

Politicians need to be held accountable for their actions and inactions. Destroying the political balance of the USofA, locking socialism in as a permanent fixture is a far greater matter of national security and concern than who is going to serve the taco's at Taco Bell.

I'm glad to have done you the service of enlightening you on the need to apply the law equally to the powerful and the weak. I hope you are a better person for it. I doubt it, but we can hope.

It hasn't been redone since

It happened when the Nation was divided over slavery and other issues, i.e. industrial economy, Federal powers vs. State, etc.; and all the pieces fell into place at one time.

Are we that divided yet? Maybe, IMHO. At least we are well on the way, judging by the count in the last election and animosity between the sides.

This time could be uglier than then as we don't have the luxury of cleanly dividing the sides with geographical lines which enabled our forefathers at that time to hold the bloodshed of non-combatants to a minimum.

One thing for certain, adding 8mil.-12mil. (x 5 including family members) further complicates the issue with unpredictable results.
