Fair Warning to the Democrats (O'Reilly Alert)
billoreilly.com ^ | January 15, 2004 | Bill O'Reilly

Posted on 01/16/2004 6:45:57 PM PST by jmstein7

This is my second attempt in this space to convince the Democratic Party that it is committing political suicide by aligning itself with the far left. Now listen up. This country needs two strong political parties, and should have more. If the democrats self-destruct, the Bush people will run wild. They are already taken with themselves, and largely unavailable to the folks. With no competition, Dick Cheney might never be seen again.

A poll by the Pew Research Center says that just 20% of Americans consider themselves "liberals," and you have to assume half of that crowd is somewhat moderate. That leaves only 10% running around calling the President a nazi and worshiping at the altar of secularism.

But that ten percent is making a lot of noise, and has a ton of influence on the Democratic establishment. Billionaire George Soros is the big money man for the Democrats this season, and old George is one far out character. He wants to legalize pretty much every vice, sees merit in euthanasia, and is moaning there isn't enough "income redistribution" in the world. Maybe that's because the Soviet Union collapsed, George. Get a clue.

Soros is pouring millions of bucks into radical movements like MoveOn.org, a website that never saw a left-wing issue it didn't embrace. Recently in New York City, the MoveOn people held a contest to see who could come up with the best anti-Bush ad. When a few Bush-nazi commercials showed up, the website panicked because of the bad press. But why the commotion? Surely, these people know their propaganda makes the most extreme radicals dance.

And guess who showed up to judge the MoveOn contest? James Carville and Donna Brazile, two card carrying members of the democratic establishment. They were surrounded by the usual suspects: Janeane Garofalo, Stuart Smalley and the rest of the Mao-sketeers.

Carville and Brazile looked on with glee as rock star Moby called the President "a f---ing liar."

As rapper Chuck D opined: "We don't want eight more years of a Colon, a Bush, and a D--- (Cheney)."

As actress Julia Stiles said: "I was afraid Bill O'Reilly would come with a shotgun at my front door and shoot me for being unpatriotic."

Good grief! I don't even own a shotgun. No worries, Julia, just enjoy the land of Oz.

Exactly what are everyday Americans supposed to think when they see the likes of Soros and these show biz people launching into the most far out political discourse in memory? And Carville and Brazile are right in the middle of it?

So I am sending a final warning to the Democratic Party, which my family belonged to for more than one hundred years. Wise up before it's too late. People judge you by those with whom you associate. To paraphrase a 60's protest song: "You don't believe you're on the eve of destruction?"

Well, you are.

Doesn't surprise me in the least, Bill.

O'Reilly seems to admit that his heart is with a moderate Democratic Party.

His nonsense about the Bush people running wild is just a feeble, transparent attempt to appear "balanced." (Lookey here...I can say bad things about the bushies, too.) Well fine, Bill, if you're gone criticize the President, then do it with something of substance other than "running wild." Geeezz!

If anything, Bush's compassionate conservatism, patriotic Americanism, is just the 1950's/early 60's Democratic Party without the Labor Unions. President Bush is only a marginal conservative.

But he is somewhat conservative, and he is pro-America, and he does want to DEFEND our freedom.

He has my vote. I sent him money on a monthly contribution basis by going to http://www.georgewbush.com

Sensible people will do the same.

I guess this is yet another one of O'Reilly's lame attempts at being "fair and balanced." But otoh, he has shown himself to be sympathetic with the 'Rats on a few issues -- 2nd Amendment issues (his pro-AWB in particular) and SUV's/"global warming" immediately come to mind.

Funny that BO was a registered Republican on LI before it was pointed out by others... then he changed his registration to "Independent".

Don't send them MORE money. The spending spree by the Republican administration and the Republican-led congress has run wild. Voluntarily giving them more money is like enabling a junkie.
Accountability from our representives is at an all-time low while we are being taxed at a rate not seen since World War II. Then it was for a righteous reason. Now we are merely enablers waiting for the last violent fit that will finish us off. We don't send them up there for Bread and Circuses, we send them up there to represent their citizens while upholding their oath of office.

My money was sent to the President's election campaign.

I do not believe in government funded electioneering so I'd never send money for running an election to a governmental body.

The facts, though, are easily discernible. Not one of the potential 3rd parties had done anything vaguely successful in growing itself since the last presidential election. They will be of approximately the same size and lack of influence.

Therefore, the next president of the United States will be either the Dem or the Rep candidate. You can mark that one down.

It will be Bush OR ??? of the 8 dwarves. There isn't a one of them I want to see in charge of this country.

O'Reilly always does this. Feels like he has to throw in a few jabs at Republicans and Bush to justify his "fair and balanced" act.

He is soooo worried about the left labeling him as conservative.

Tell it like it is! You're absolutely right.

The rest is an exercise in futility.

O'Reilly is an egotistical blowhard. He takes something as obvious as this and calls it his own observation. "You'd better listen to me or else. O'Reilly said the other night Weasley Clark was hurting himself bigtime because he won't come on "The Factor." As if he's the difference between success and failure. The guy is becoming a parody of himself.

For the umteenth time, the guy is not a Conservative. He's anti death penalty, anti-gun and pro Gay Rights. He is for one thing. O'Reilly. Conservatives are done a great disservice when this guy is lumped in as one of our own.
