I'm not quite sure what you two are complaining about. Foxnews had Katherine Harris on speaking about her possible Senate run this morning while the other two crap cablenews channels were covering MJ.Even a broken clock is . . .

The heart felt comments by both of you have made me teary-eyed. It's a joyful, crying day. I am so happy and so proud of our President George Walker Bush for standing steadfast, for promoting his core beliefs and for appointing Judge Pickering. Pass me more tissue, please.

This is exactly why I go to the mat for this PresidentI agree. If Pres. Bush personally asked me to do something, to put my life on the line or to make a significant sacrifice, I would do it, because I trust him and his judgment.

So you're saying that Foxnew's covering of Katherine Harris doesn't mean anything. Even though they were the only ones to do it.
While both CNN and MSNBC were kissing MJ's ass?! So what makes the bias assclowns at CNN and MSNBC so much better you think?

Greta's dad was Joe McCarthy's campaign manager? That fact fascinates me. It may be the reason she does not come across to me as a flaming liberal. She is a direct person and smart and quick, characteristics I like. She may have learned from McCarthy's experience that the country does not always appreciate being told the truth about communism or it's derivatives and has moderated herself accordingly.

Yet you do the same thing by insinuating that any conservative who doesn't support Bush is childish.
Hardly. #1, I didn't insinuate. I said it plain as day. #2, I was specifically referring to those who say they will not vote for President Bush again because of the immigration proposal (or whatever issue du jour rankles them). It is they who are discarding the whole person over one policy disagreement, not I. Is that their right? Of course! But it is my right to say that I find such people irritating and sanctimonious.
I am a conservative. Have been one all my adult life, although I don't know how self-professed "real" conservatives define the term so I don't know if I qualify as "real" or just dogged persistent in voting for a very long list of candidates who identify themselves as Republicans and conservatives. As a Southern Californian, I am not surprised by the immigration proposal since the President campaigned on that issue in 2000. I'm disappointed in it, however, and will do my best to convince the Congress not to pass it. But, unlike "real" conservatives, I am not angry with this President for submitting the proposal.
As for the rest of your commentary, my attitude is fine! Vote for him or not. That is your privilege. You ask: "What 'percentage' of disagreement is sufficent for you to vote against a candidate: 50% . . . 25% . . . 1%?" My answer: I don't think in such limited terms. I'll leave it to you self-professed "real" conservatives to figure out how many angels dance on the head of a pin.

You are absolutely right, they were both great posts, and we all should be proud that they are posting in this forum.
President Bush has now answered over six months of a constant negative barrage, by the left. He has answered with a broadside, and is now on his way to a second term. Let us still be vigilant, after all, we are dealing with rats.

WELL STATED!!!

NO. I KNOW that's the nuclear option that the Senate has been unwilling to go to. I'm calling this the NUKULAR option that W has enough brass to drop and put the WHOLE senate on notice that they'd better get busy or risk irrelevance like a certain world body we all know and dislike. That's the NUKULAR option, pal.

There are many days here, (particualrly many
recent days here), when I literally thank God for yall, --- that yall post such forthright and heart felt comments in defense of our great President Bush.
As My2Cents often says, disagreement is one thing, the threat to stay home or vote third party is quite another. The stakes are too high. Trashing POTUS has become a blood sport for some here, and I am sick to death of it.

Pickering's term on the court will automatically end at the end of the current session of the Senate--Dec 2004. So technically, Pickering will be on the bench one yearTrue, but it will also span the time between the elections and swearing in of new Senators. I think the results might give them pause, and maybe some Rat Senators might want to noodle on that before Pickering's vote comes up next time.

GW should ask Miguel Estrada which Appeals court he'd be
willing to sit on for a year (or longer), and appoint him
as well IMMEDIATELY.
When the Senate returns from vacation, I believe there are
ways GW can meet the letter of the law so these guys still
get a paycheck.
For example, reresubmit their names for advice and consent
to the Senate, to the SAME seat they are filling.
(not quite sure if that qualifies)
Resubmit SOMEONE ELSE for that seat they are temporarily
filling. (I know that qualifies)
Submit Estrada's name for Pickering's seat and vice
versa. (they'd both get paid)
Submit Judge BORK for Pickering's seat. Daschle and Kennedy
would faint away, but Pickering would get paid.
....I love it! Way to go GW!!!!!
