In 3d hour of today's Limbaugh show, Rush was referring to a newspaper article from California. Was having a little trouble remembering some mundane details of the story and remarked "I'm having a little trouble remembering all the details of the story. I got it off Free Republic this morning!"

Rumors confirmed. We are the premier Conservative research source in the nation.

and.... welcome Rush.

PS, If Rush reads this, I know who has your Grandfather's first set of law books, along with a letter from Westlaw congratulating him on opening his practice, etc.

He would be glad to send you letter, copy, etc.

And no I wasn't angry. Just honored to be on the Rush show-prep team. I'm sure I'm not alone in that here.

You're not. while it wasn't something I posted here, a couple years back I sent Rush an e-mail responding to some caller he had saying "conservatives cram their morality down other peoples throats". I sent him several examples of liberals shoving their morality down other people's throats. Just like he did with you, he said verbatim some of the things I said. There's no way he could've said them as he did without reading my email.

With or without credit, it was really cool to be part of his show that day.

Rush has mentioned Free Republic semi-frequently for several years now, and when it is mentioned it has typically been more than just in passing like it was today, sometimes taking up entire segments of the show and prominent displays/links reference FR on his website.

This isn't a new discovery by any means.

I know just what you mean. Since I never call talk shows, it's the first time I've actually had my input on the air like that.

It could be really hard to guess. I've had email replies from several articulate talkshow hosts and been surprised by something they all had in common - poor spelling, syntax and punctuation.

Not new at all.. In fact wasn't it Rush's man 'Sneardly' [ims] who was involved with investing in FR?

Hard to remember the details, but I believe a group of investors made a business offer to JR at one point..

Excuse me for being cynical here but Rush has mentioned FR and DU (in a negative light) a lot more since he got in trouble. I just wonder if he's shoring up his core support by throwing FR a few bones here and there.

Knowing about FR is one thing, whether he'll use the insights and info posted here to enlighten his listeners on a variety of issues is the big question.

I remember Common Tator. His comments were (I thought) in the top rank, quality wise, of those who post here at FreeRepublic. And, by the way, the "top rank" of quality posters here is a pretty large group IMO. :)

I haven't seen his posts in quite some time.

I don't understand Rush's harsh attitude toward those who criticise him (I'm referring here to the earlier post about how Rush disappeared from this forum after someone put up a critical thread and others piled on). I mean, I know he gave a lengthy explaination about why he put that guy from Ellsworth Maine on his "excrement list," but that was someone who actually sent a critical e-mail directly to him. FreeRepublic, as we all know, is an open forum to which anyone can post, as long as they obey the rules of Jim Robinson.

Interesting that he would be so sensitive. Or maybe there's some business reason for it.
